Close to old city. 15minutes by walking.
But need to review the bill against double payment. Free parking.

The rooms were very clean. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was phenomenal. A great choice of all different foods. Check in and check out. Was very easy. Very close to the airport. Definitely stay here again and visiting Austria.

We stayed for 3 nights in December and can recommend the place.
Pros:
1. Reasonably priced rooms
2. Free onsite parking
3. Convenient to downtown Salzburg. Only a 20 min walk so we could leave our car at the hotel
4. Very good breakfast
5. Attentive property manager lives there with his family. The front desk atrendant is also pleasant and helpful.
6. Facilities all worked well and good heating when it was -8C outside!
Cons
1. They clean rooms early in the morning. We did not leave the hotel until 10am and because they cleaned earlier, they did not clean our room that day. If you leave after 9am, be sure to remind them to clean your room
2. The rooms are small for 2 people. That's not uncommon in the EU.
3. The rooms and furniture are a bit outdated but they are clean and comfortable.
4. No onsite cafe or restaurant - just a breakfast room that closes at 10am
5. The walls are a little thin so we could hear slamming doors and people talking in the hallway. However it's not that bad if you accept that it's a hotel and people come and go.
So all in all, it's a very pleasant place to stay if you want to visit Salzburg.

Hotel is very well kept and comfortable. Our room was large and included a fridge and balcony, which were both a welcome bonus. The area is very walkable to several nice restaurants. In theory one can walk to old town as well, but it is a fair distance and we didn't try it. There are only a few off-street parking spots for the hotel, but there is reserved on-street parking. We didn't have any trouble finding a spot, just would have preferred to be off-street.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide assortment of foods available. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed one night in Salzburg. Very convenient and walkable location. Check-in process was outstanding. We arrived very early after traveling all night. They allowed us to check in early which was very much appreciated.

Hotel location is ideal as it is ideally located and city or train station are within 15 min travel by bus. Location is quiet and not busy.
Hotel reception staff is extremely good and helpful.
Breakfast room staff is not friendly who are constantly "watching" you. All sign boards are in German even though they have visitors who are non German speakers.
No tea or coffee is made available in the room and not even a water bottle.
Overall experience at the hotel was OK. if you are looking a good place to sleep only then choose this but if you are looking for an hotel stay experience then look elsewhere.

Exterior of hotel looked old, but the interior was clean and well maintained. Room was larger than most European hotels, and also had a small enclosed porch. Breakfast was included and had a good choice. Excellent location for touring Salzburg. About 15 min walk to city center, but bus stop was also across street. Free parking was also included. Would stay again.

The hotel was quite nice with a very good complimentary breakfast. We had a nice room but oddly it was immediately next to the front desk. The description of the hotel did not mention free wi-fi but the hotel gave it to us. Their system is complicated though.
There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel which takes you to the center of old town in about 10 minutes. The Salzburg card gives you access to public transportation and is sold at the hotel. I was never able to figure out which bus could get us back to the hotel though so we always had to take a taxi.

We visited Salzburg on business basis, but we did this as family.
We chose the Astoria due to the basis, that lies close to the airport, where conference was and also close to the center of the Salzburg, where we (my son and I spent quite a time :) ).
There is also a walking path along a larger creek nearby.
The room we got has a large double bed, a third bed "hidden" in a comfy armchair, a nice bathroom with ladder radiator, a balcony that is glazed and it serves as another smaller room with a table and a couple of chairs. There is also a TV available and an internet, which is, like in the most places in Austria, payable. Somehow I do not understand why an Internet is sth like privilege in Austria but in most of the countries on the other side of "Karawanken tunnel" is free and largely available in every room for rent, apartment, etc.
The room works spacious enough,it was tidy, clean.
We also had a breakfast included, which was good. They make a good coffee :)
The walking time to center is about 15 minutes. You can also take a bus, if you guess which one is correct. They also have some parking spaces or you can freely park on the street behind the hotel.
The employees were kind and helpful.
