It was not a great first experience staying at the Crane.
I come to Barbados once a month and stay in various locations all over the island.
This was my first time at the Crane and will also be my last.
Service was provided by people who most of all appeared to not want to be there in the first place. So not a good experience.
I had dinner at the Italian restaurant and breakfast at Azure.
Not worth the time or money.. plenty of proper restaurants on the island.
On the positive side..
Great bed, and the hostess at Mount Pleasant was great and helpful.
I really had been looking forward to trying out the Crane, so leaving this morning with a stomach problem from the food and a 6 hour flight ahead of me, left me quite bitter about wasting my money and my visit.

Room was incredible. Loved having our own 28ft pool. Worth every cent. Wish there were daily shuttles to Bridgetown but Susans Taxi was very reliable transportation. Loved the golf simulator but it needs tweaking. Good restaurant options. Only complaint is that atm was not working. We're definitely coming back.

I love the eco friendly feel of the hotel and its closeness to the airport.
However, i t rained while i was their and the ground was abit slippery therefore i recommend that signs be placed advising guest to wear footwear with some type of grip. And also large signs warning guest zof same

If I had to rate this resort, it would be 4/10. My husband and I came for our 10-year anniversary and were disappointed. The resort is not 4 stars, more like 2.
Food was overpriced since it's not all-inclusive. The breakfast at L’Azure was terrible, and room service from D’Onfrio’s arrived cold and undercooked with a $15 delivery fee. Ordering pizza was a hassle, but Zen and the Carriage House were decent.
The pools had no chlorine smell, making me hesitant to swim. Some pools were under maintenance, with debris falling in. There was constant noisy construction. The resort’s charm online is misleading; it needs major updates. The Carriage House pool railing was broken, and our plunge pool was too cold and had bugs.
Guest services misled us about a shuttle to LeShack restaurant, making us pay for a taxi. Crane beach was unusable due to seaweed, and the resort only offered shuttles to a better beach on our departure day. We also faced unexpected taxes and a daily room tax.
If you are looking for relaxation and quiet, this resort might suit you as it is very boring but relaxing. However, if you are looking for a resort to party and have fun, don’t book The Crane. They didn’t have any entertainment. I wouldn't visit again or recommend it.

The Crane is approximately 20 minutes from airport. But, not convenient to Bridgetown or Oristens. The registration desk employees were accommodating but the concierge’s weren’t as accommodating as I would have appreciated. I would I liked more assistance in planning a week of activities. The suite was LARGE, but not super clean. The resort workers were very friendly and pleasant. I prefer a resort closer to area of town. Also if I were a single woman, I wouldn’t like walking the resort grounds after dark. The center of resort is ok after dark but walking the distance to your building is isolated. The L’Azure Restaurant is beautiful & food was very good. The waves on that side of island are extremely rough on the beach. There are cute little monkeys walking the sidewalks in the early morning.

JetBlue "delayed" our flight for 24 hours, and we used Hotels.com to find us a spot nearer to the airport than Bridgetown. Despite arriving prior to other stranded people, we waited nearly two hours in the lobby to be told that there were no rooms except one with no air conditioning. What were we supposed to do? It was midnight and we were stuck. The room was warm for sure, with two noisy fans trying to make up for the lack of air. The bed was hard as a rock and the floors were dirty. Service at breakfast was unfriendly and slow, with grackles swooping in on tables from all directions. The food was average. Positives? The property is large and beautifully situated, with the gorgeous sea and many pools as backdrop. Some of the pools were not in service, tho, and there was trash on the property. The water in the pool was hazy, not clear. The hotel's Guest Services manager credited us $$ but I'm not sure how that's going to work since we paid upfront with Hotels.com. Would I ever go back? Probably not, but I can see why others might like it there. Our experience with a dirty, hot room certainly influences that opinion.

We felt safe. The tap water quality is very good (similar to most of the best in the US). The tap water is safe and tastes good. The staff is professional and hospitable. The food is superb both in taste and presentation. The shopping choices are very good. Most items you may need can be found at the General Store if you forget something or want to get some food for the room. We highly recommend The Crane Resort to anyone interested in visiting Barbados. We would particularly recommend taking a taxi to Oistins Fish Market and trying Uncle George's Fish Net Grill while there. Taxis are convenient to get, though plan to have plenty of cash as they may be a little more than US rates-it's more like a limo service where they stay close so you can get a quick return. The only place we didn't eat at the resort was L'Azure, and all the others we did eat were excellent both in selection and quality. We would recommend getting a reservation for the BBQ Dinner at The Grove Beach Bar & Grill that takes place on Tuesday nights for an all you can eat buffet and live music. The In-Room Dining is also very good and reasonably quick. Also try the Village Cafe, the sweets are very good. Most purchases at the resort can be added to the room bill for convenience. They also have beach towels included with your stay that you can trade for clean towels, anytime during the day. In all, you will have an experience you won't forget, it is like a dream in paradise.

Stayed in the off-season and the staff didn’t seem to be on their A game. Restaurants were pretty good. This resort is far away from most other desirable activities on the island so prepare to invest in taxis or a car rental.

The property is beautiful, big and spacious layout. Staff are amazing, very welcoming and helpful. Great restaurants inside the property. The pool areas were very clean and great to relax. Unfortunately the beach was has a big seaweed problem that makes it impossible to enjoy the beach at the property. They have a solution and you can schedule a shuttle that will take you to a beautiful white sand beach. This was a great added bonus. I enjoyed my stay at the crane. The property is located pretty far from everything but the airport. Going into town and the hotspot locations/ restaurants will be a good 30 minutes drive. Taxis are expensive ($40 US dollars to and from the resort into town).

Great resort to relax and unwind. NOT a party resort but it’s easy to get to places via taxi, cab, rental, etc. all the staff were sooooo nice and hospitality. Food is very good 5 restaurants on site; more Americanized, would have preferred more Caribbean food but it was still great.
