Helnan Phønix Hotel

Lovely smiling staff, and a better breakfast than anticipated. I’ll be coming back next time I’m in Aalborg. Oh, and there is parking behind the hotel and the location of the hotel is very central ( I like the fact that the old elevator / lift is still in use)

Good hotel with poor services! We had a family trip and stayed here for 4 days but unfortunately It turned into a bad experience.. No cleaning services during our stay; not even changing the sheets!! Bathroom facilities were never charged and the trash was never taken out! However the cleaning staff came every day and sometimes disturbed us by knocking on the door but no services other than making the beds!!!! And no services at reception; The toilet water line was completely blocked and it took a long time to drain the water but reception staff just kept saying we will look at it and unfortunately never done!... And the last thing is the hidden expenses; you have to pay an expensive parking expenses while you don't see anything about that while booking the room! Not recommended at all...

There was a party the last night that they let continue until 2 am and we had to leave for airport at 6 am.

Location perfect, just a few steps from Aalborg city centre but despite that in a quiet area. Relatively large rooms but as for most of danish hotels, no air conditioning in the room. Beds comfortable, bathroom clean, only issue in our room was that water from shower covered the whole floor. Fast, free and stable internet connection, and overall a very positive experience with high value for money. Breakfast good, everything needed in place, lot’s of seats in the breakfast area, so even with a high number of guests eating at the same time, it worked out smooth. Parking just outside hotel - 150DKK/night, first served, no chance to book but a lot of places available, there is also other parking areas in the surroundings. Staff friendly, check-in and check-out very efficient. Overall highly recommended for stay in Aalborg.

Very conveniently located hotel with on-site parking. Professional service. Nice room. Clean. Good value for money.
