Overview

The DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh - Sharks Bay Resort is a large resort complex offering a range of amenities. Guests appreciate the resort's pleasant atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff. While the resort is described as quieter than some, many reviewers praise the all-inclusive dining options and varied food at the buffet restaurants. However, some guests have noted that the resort is showing its age, and aspects such as the WiFi connectivity and shuttle bus frequency could be improved. The resort is also reported to be a fair distance from the beach and a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport.

I needed a couple of days between arriving and flying to Cairo. The huge complex is very pleasant, but was very quiet. The room was good, but WiFi was poor there or often not functioning. The breakfast was as much as you want but nothing special. The staff were very kind and helpful and I will go back. Best designed for a poolside holiday or by the small beach.

Not the best resort I have stayed at, but it was a great deal price wise. The hotel is a bit old, and I didnt like that the free internet was only at the lobby. The lobby was always full of people on the phones and the internet was super slow. I was expecting more from a Hilton hotel. A lot of people in the pool and the atmosphere was a little too "spring break" for me. In other words, it really feels like a mass-tourism resort. But the food in the buffet was great, and the room was really good as well, great for a night. Also the location is walking distance to Soho square, which was really nice. And the transportation to the airport was fantastic.

Excellent staff, work very hard to make you welcome and go the extra mile. Don't be put off by its proximity to the airport, commute was around 20mins by taxi and planes departing / landing not a problem for me or the wife. Entertainment was ok, would be ideal for kids as the pool was heated after the 1st couple of days, and was shallow enough for a paddle or swim. Would I spend my money here again... Most definatly.

This was our 4th stay at the Hilton so we know what we like about this hotel but others may be more critical. The hotel runs on 2 sites, one by the beach but the more luxurious part is inland. However, there is a good shuttle bus service between the two parts. We have stayed on both sites and they both have positive and negative aspects. The inland part has more comfortable rooms, lovely landscaped pools and gardens and is generally less noisy. We also prefer the Q Club bar at this site. However, the dining room is large, very busy and often has long queues for dinner. The older part by the beach obviously has better access to the reef where the snorkelling is fantastic but we found the larger 4 storey blocks were very noisy when people stayed up late around the pool area or in the echoing corridors. The dining room on the sea side was being refurbished so we ate in the smaller room downstairs which was quite cosy and quiet. Although this hotel has the Hilton name, it is not a true Hilton experience but a friendly Egyptian hotel which, if fully inclusive, offers a 'no extras' experience with very helpful staff.

It wasn't Hilton quality. The resort deserves 3 stars max and cannot be 4 stars anyway compared to other 4 stars hotels in Egypt. No food variety on both lunch and dinner and food quality is not that bad but not good. Don't worry, you won't die hungry but you won't enjoy food. The Italian restaurant has nothing related to Italy except the menu is in Italian language!. Don't forget your comfort shoes to help you inside the hotel long distances between the room, Restaurant and beach. I lost 1.5 Km during the week stay in the hotel and this is one positive thing I liked in the hotel in addition to the comfort bed, which we really liked. The beach is very small and not good. You may use the internal bus to transfer guests to/from beach every 30 mints. We considered our week stay as experience that shouldn't be repeated again. I have been in Sharm El Sheikh more than 20 times in different hotels from 3 to 5+ stars and never experience similar disappointing stay before. More and above, staff see guests as burden and you guess how they treated us?!

Fabulous time as a single female traveller. Pools were amazing - adults only one and an adults only bar as well. Pure relaxation.

Easy to get to. Hotel is a large resort, split into two units. The part furthest from the beach being the newest bit. A shuttle bus does the rounds every 5 mins. The resort is an all-inclusive. However, premium brand spirits, foreign wines and the Asian restaurant are excluded. The place is fine and totally adequate. Hotel has a limo that charges $15 each way which despite being ridiculously expensive is a decent service. The internal shops are really expensive, fortunately there is a row of shops outside. You will have to haggle with the Spa etc, which again is a ridiculous price. The on-site dive centre is pretty good.

Honestly, I can not find any fault with this Hilton Sharks Bay, its a beautiful Resort, well maintain and extremely friendly staff. Not sure if its because we where one of the very, very few black people there but I believe everyone got the same treatment. We arrived on the 19th September and i forgot to book a shuttle from the bus station so when we arrived we have a little tizz at the gate not knowing that they don't allow "foreign" (for lack of a better word) taxi's into the resort. We also had a little drama while checking in but luckily I had printed out our confirmation so they swiftly checked us into a room while we waited for them to sort it out. We stayed in the new wing of the hotel, beautiful room, clean bathrooms, aircon and very soft comfy beds. We where a little far from the main reception but we didn't mind the walk. The food was great, all inclusive "woop whoop" so we eat and eat and eat. Great variety of meals from breakfast to dinner, but if we had stayed longer this comment would be different. The pool is beautiful, the pool bar a bonus "all inclusive" wooop whoop. The beach was far but they have a shuttle ever 15 minutes which was cool. The beach activities where also super cool we went to a deserted desert island, snorkeled and swim till the sun came down. We also freaked out when we heard a Dbanj track in one of the bars but it was a once off. Overall it was a great stay, loved every minute of it and will be coming back again in the near future.

We have enjoyed our stay here a lot. Our room was in the extension of the hotel, a little far away from the beach. The shuttle bus which drives the guests for free to the beach was supposed to come every 10 minutes, but 2 of the 3 buses were out of service, so it only came once every 30 minutes, which was not very convenient in the hot weather. Snorkeling was more than amazing. The all inclusive program allowed us to enjoy a huge amount of free beverages and snacks in nearly all bars and cafeterias inside the resort and gave us the opportunity to hire snorkeling equipment for a refundable deposit, which really added up to the great experience. Right on the beach you can reserve many water activities, we took the parasailing and the tube, which we enjoyed enormously. The stuff is helpful, only a little few for covering all the resort and all the visiting guests, we felt they were too overloaded. There are many restaurants to enjoy during your stay, food was Ok, not amazing. Will definitely recommend it to friends!
