Trident, Chennai

I only use the Trident for airport stopovers. It's less than a 10 min ride from the airport (though the 800 rupee charge for the hotel car is extortionate - an Ola will cost a fraction of that) There is a fabulous pool for chilling out. Rooms are decent, bright and clean, but maybe not the most comfortable mattress, might be a bit hard for some. Staff are incredibly helpful, though the long pauses after service gave indication that some were waiting for tips, but never asked (a driver from this hotel did ask me for a tip two years back, as we got out at the airport, but not this time). Definitely recommend for anyone needing a good hotel for late night / early flight, but other than that not much around the hotel outside to merit staying here for long, as you also have planes flying over all the time.

My third or fourth stay. Superb service. Much improved from my previous stay on timeliness. Best chef and restaurant. Breakfast was traditional southindian and continental but the South Indian was super tasty without being spicy, huge skill to achieve that. Close to airport and nanganallur's traditional shops and restaurants just 5 mins by autorickshaw available on the back entrance. Excellent gym and pool. I could see mangoes from my room hanging off trees on hotel premises. The hotel is good, rooms are excellent but getting slightly dated. My go to in Chennai, even over the Taj Wellington.

This hotel is close to MAA airport, for the same price in USA I get awe full service and hotel amenities. I will stay again in this hotel

Very comfortable and nicely decorated hotel, convenient to Chennai airport. Staff was very attentive. Excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast buffet.

Easy airport access. Restaurant staff a bit lacking on experience / training. After waiting40 min for eggs Benedict found that order not placed. Ran out of time after another 15 minutes and left hungry.

Nice enough hotel and very convenient for the airport. Service was good. The buffet prices are notably higher than any other hotel we stayed at in Chennai or elsewhere in India.

The staff and the service received were excellent, the food in the cinnamon restaurant was exceptional. The room was clean but dated. The pool was ok with good service. The area surrounding was close to the airport. I didn’t go out but there was a lot of noise from the planes, although the room I had was quiet. I would recommend this hotel, for me it was a stop off for a flight home.
