Fairfield by Marriott Visakapatnam

Staffs are very kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Foods at Kava are very good. My special thanks to Harshvardhan and Priyaranjqn and other staffs at Kava for taking good care of us. Would highly recommend to all the travellers who are planning to visit Visakhapatnam.

The room was clean and tidy, reasonable in size for 1-2 people. The hall and some other common areas had extremely strong infuser smells which at times was pretty bothersome. Ordering room service was difficult due to a language barrier,and not all listed menu items under "all day" options turned out to actually be available to order. After I booked transport to depart to the airport, I felt like the stuff was rushing me to leave.

Pros: its closer to the airport! The view to the city is pretty good... The menu on their lunch and dinner was ok, they could do better. They would change the menu of breakfast into lunch and dinner!

The hotel is close to the airport, and very nice. I think my auto rick driver from the train station found it imposing and intimidating. Generally I enjoyed my stay, and the staff were helpful. But annoyingly, in the restaurant, they don’t assign a waiter to a table, and so, as in many Indian hotels, the same questions are asked by two or three waiters, minutes apart. Water?Omelette? Naan? Enough already! I’d like to enjoy my meal. Also, I had two outside taxis refuse a day trip, in one case because (I think) I only speak English. Within minutesof learning of my problem, the hotel arranged a car and driver to take me for a day outing to the Araku Valley. Fabulous! And annoying when the driver asked for a small amount of money to cover his lunch. To this American, all the driver’s expenses for the day should have been covered by the hotel fee. The hotel said they were still new to arranging day trips, so hopefully they’ll straighten this out going forward. I have fond memories of my time in Vizag, largely due tothe terrific stall at the Fairfield, probably the nicest Fairfield I’ve ever stayed in.
