Super nice staff. Nice big room. A little hot without AC, but windows allow breeze (just use the mosquito net).
Breakfast was basic but fresh. Maybe they could mix it up a bit but when I was staying there were not many guests so that's probably less cost efficient.
Nothing really to do in the local area and you need a taxi/uber to get anywhere. However it's very much on the right side of town for the airport.

The hotel was difficult to get to and and not as convenient to the airport as I had hoped. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The hotel condition was not as good as I expected. It worked as a short term place to sleep, but would not be acceptable for most US tourists.

My wife, son and I were returning from a safari in Tanzania, and had approximately a 12 hour layover in Nairobi before catching our flight back to London. I thought "hey, what about the West Breeze Hotel? The pictures look okay, and all we need is a place to lay our heads down overnight. We don't need anything fancy for an overnight stay. As long as the place is up to Motel 6 standards, what's the worst that can go wrong?"
Big mistake! The rooms bear absolutely no resemblance to the photos shown on Expedia. Our room looked like it should be in a flophouse! There were no bed frames - just stacks of mattresses thrown onto the floor. Noisy plumbing, poor sound proofing, no mosquito screening, no air conditioning and windows that didn't shut properly. Trains coming by at all hours of the night.
We managed to get hot water but the shower head let out barely a trickle. We had to squat under a pipe about 2 feet off the shower floor to wash our hair - of course I conked my head on the pipe when I went to stand up. Breakfast was beans, rice and eggs with unidentifiable items thrown in - we took a pass and ate at the airport instead.
I'm sure there are worse hotels in Nairobi. However I take serious issue with the way this hotel is rated. They have some nerve claiming 3.5 stars, and I hope Expedia has agents that go around trying to verify star ratings. This hotel is a classic case of bait and switch for international travellers.

Sadly, there are no "good deals" for hotels in Nairobi. After 23 trips here, I thought I'd try to save some money and stay at West Breeze Hotel. The place is "fair" in all aspects. Located next to railroad tracks and the Mombasa Highway, there is noise. No window screens, so expect a warm stuffy room and/or open windows to the noise and mosquitoes, untreated water, access road in bad condition, parking space for only two cars, poor WiFi, and older rooms. Breakfast was beans, sausage, eggs and cereal - when all were available. Although costing more, Country Lodge is a better value for each of the above reasons.

hotel and neighbourhood were really run down. looks as if there has not been any maintenace in years. the taxidriver was not amused when he saw the road that lead to the hotel. it was bumpy, full of potholes and had no blacktop.
furniture, curtains all was worn down. bathroom looked like a grotto. there is no airco! personell, was not at all interested in their guests. only the receptionist dit her utmost to offer us all service there was possible

The only thing going for this place is how close it is to Wilson airport. I wouldn't stay there again. However, if you are on a tight budget and need to stay close to the airport, then this place might work out for you.

First no hot water, as in cold water coming from the hot tap. Then no water at all from the hot tap. Then co cold water. At each stage reception told me it was being fixed. No restaurants for a very long walk and taxis are reluctant to come along the rough track in front of the hotel. Food is poor in the hotel.
