Chateau on the Park - Christchurch, a DoubleTree by Hilton

We arrived in the late night after a 3 hour flight. There is no cold water from both basin tap and shower tap in the room arranged for us. The receptionist asked us to wait until next morning that they will have someone to check. I have asked a few times if we can change to another room but NO all the time. Until my daughter cried as her hand hurtted by the hot water then I turned angry to ask if not changing room we will just leave. That’s in the mid-night around 1am. Finally they move us to a room just next to the lift. There are fire doors next to the lift when all the residents access to their rooms we can hear hundreds times of noisy sounds when the door opens and closes. So don’t stay in room end with 53. Also the balcony of this room is facing the packing yard. When a bus coming and parking there, you may feel dizzy and thinking if it’s kind of earthquake. Beside these, I still rate them good if something can be improved.

Lovely hotel with listed amenities, quiet room with good parking facilities on site. Great buffet breakfast. Dinner a bit expensive but ok. Pleasant staff.

Cant really rate this property as I booked in the wrong date. I turned up a week early and they offered me a room for double the price, which was fair enough as they were busy. I asked if they could transfer the original payment to another day, they said no. I tried to cancel the property 7 days out and they said that's fine, but no refund. Bit of a bummer as I was looking forward to staying there. Moral of the story, check cancellation policy before you book in any accommodation. Buyer Beware

Had a fantastic stay. The hotel gardens were beautiful and the room very comfortable. Quiet location with easy parking. We walked through the botanic gardens into the city (approx 30min walk). Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful property right in the heart of the city. Walking distance to the Botanical Garden. Close to the airport for departure. Staff are well trained and professional. The room and property are very clean and interesting.

Lovely hotel in a good location for the airport and city. An easy 20 minute walk into Christchurch, through a beautiful park. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Bedrooms well maintained and comfy, large beds.

The only downside I have found is check-in time. It is so late I have had to book the day before to ensure the guest or myself can ensure we can go straight to our rooms. International flights reach ChCh frequently during the morning hours. I have been staying with this hotel for almost 2 decades and would love to see an earlier check-in.

I was excited to stay here. Half the rooms have view of parking lot, was asked to change, did not get a friendly response. Chair in room as dirty, couldn't get wifi to work. With the poor customer service I decided I didn't want to stay 2 night. Manager say call Hotels.com. I did and they were so helpful. Spent one hour on the phone. The manager on duty declined my cancelation! Had to go down and argue and hotels.com stayed on the line the whole time. This place isn't cheap and am willing to pay for a good room but the Manager was so terrible. Left early and went to a much better hotel like 5 mins away. Would not recommend to stay here, super overated.
