Smarthotel Bodø

Hotel is next to train station at the convenient location to get around. The room is clean and serve my purpose as a solo traveller.

The location was excellent because it was directly across from the train station, within a 5-minute walk of both ferry terminals, and right in the center of town. The staff was very helpful too. The rooms were small but had everything one needed, other than a coffee pot would have been nice. I didn't like getting a room with a view of a wall both times that I stayed there: that was a bit depressing.

The hotel is just next to the train station and the ferry terminal. Central location makes access to other parts od Bodø very easy. The rooms as well as the whole of the hotel is very modern and filled with great technology. Rooms facing the bay have a lovely view and the curtains are thin enough to ensure a good sleep even during the midnight sun nights.

Smart hotel is a new, well furnished hotel in the centre of Bodø. Its breakfast is pretty good with a good selection of hot and cold. However, my room was not cleaned every 4th day (as stated) and I had to remind staff to achieve this. Parking was also a nightmare. I received parking fines in the adjacent car park despite paying on the app.

The remote to the TV was missing in my room. Some might feel that this is a super minor issue, but this night had been planned for a while, and all I wished to do was to relax with some nice TV-shows after an extremely hectic and stressful month of constant travel. The reception staff really couldn't care less; apparently all the remotes in the entire hotel had been stolen and there was nothing they could do (that's what they told me). I understand that the reception staff can't be blamed when apparently all the remotes across the entire hotel gets stolen, but the unwillingness to show some basic customer service in the situation, was surprising to say the least. They half ignored me and it seemed like they just wanted me to go away. I'm not one to complain nor to demand anything, but I do expect that when I pay for something, things are there and in working order. Maybe in the future, staff can offer breakfast as a bandaid or, at the very least, SEEM genuinely like they care and want to help your situation. All that said, the room was very clean, so big thumbs up to the cleaners!
