Scandic Park Sandefjord

Enjoyed two nights while driving around the Vestfold region. This is a conference hotel, it hosts many events and airline staff stay here. Despite being a busy hotel, the staff is amazing, they do not miss on anything, giving them an A . I recommend staying here for any travel. Full breakfast buffet included & same day laundry service is available if you drop by 730am. Premium parking is available on-site & discount parking is available across the road. Don't violate parking rules, you'll get a 560 nok ticket. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants, museums, shopping & bars. Good bar hopping after 2200. I'm coming back.

Our standard family room (which can sleep 2 adults and 2 children) was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. But most importantly and a rarity--this hotel has air conditioning in its rooms! The hotel is near the water, and you have a lovely view of the pier. We asked for a 4:00am taxi to TORP airport upon check-in, but the taxi was not ready for us the next morning, and another taxi had to be called. Aside from that small hiccup, the staff was pleasant and helpful.

The room was nice, the beds were great. However, several small amenities (no luggage racks, no place to hang anything in the bathroom, burnt out light bulbs, unplugged lights over bed, no tea/coffee pot in room, etc, ) were lacking compared to the other 7 hotels we stayed in while traveling thru Norway. The lack of computer access for guests to check airline status, etc. was troubling, and that the day staff had no clue what time the airport opened or what time we should leave for the airport to check in was also troubling. Did not find out until the late night desk clerk came on duty that we did not need our 3:30 a.m taxi as the airport did not open until 5:00 a.m.
