Overview

The Casona de la Paca is lauded for its stunning location, beautiful grounds, and amazing views. Guests consistently praise the exceptional service provided by the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel offers a top-class breakfast, with a made-to-order service featuring fresh ingredients and elegant presentation. While situated slightly outside the village of Cudillero, in El Pito, a pleasant 15-20 minute walk leads down to the village centre. However, the uphill return journey is considerably longer, so this should be considered. Some rooms have rooflights only, so it is recommended that you clarify this aspect when booking.

A pleasant stay in a lovely old casona. My only remark would be that, whilst it did not concern us too much that our room on the top floor had only rooflights, nevertheless I believe that this should have been made clear at the time of booking. I f you are thinking of quick trips by car down to the village for sustenance forget it, but there are alternatives..

This is a grand looking house with lovely gardens and lounges, and there is ample and very good parking behind the hotel. Check in was very good and our room is in a very modern annex and is very nice, in a motel style sort of way. It is very comfortable, well equipped and has an excellent en-suite with fabulous shower. Breakfast was top class and, rather than help yourselves to a buffet, you order what you want and they bring it to you. We enjoyed juice, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, scrambled eggs, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses and various types of toast. The service was excellent, as was the presentation; and when you add the sheer style and ambience of the house and its decor it would put many 5 star hotels to shame. As has been pointed out in previous reviews, the hotel isn’t actually in Cudillero and is up the hill in nearby El Pito. It is relatively easy to walk down to Cudillero however and we found that it took between 15 and 20 minutes. There are pavements all the way and traffic is light anyway. Coming back is a different matter and takes about 25-30 minutes. Quite simply, if you are the type of person who can’t go up the stairs without stopping for breath, don’t do it. The bottom line is that if you are visiting Cudillero I can’t imagine you could find a better place to stay than at this top class hotel. We found it perfect in every way and will certainly use it again.

This isn’t the most expensive hotel we’ve stayed in but it might well be the best one. Casona de la Paca is in a beautiful setting, lovely grounds and amazing views. It’s a great walk into town (& you can take a taxi back to the hotel). Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and meticulous.

Very nice, quiet place - hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, for an extra cost, was good value and filling. The grounds were quite pleasant and had free onsite parking, which is always appreciated. A little bit of a walk down the hill to the restaurants and the heart of Cudillero (~ 15 minutes, so not bad), but it is such a lovely village. Well worth a visit
