Airport Transit Lodges

This was a good place near the airport to stay during a long-ish layover. Good, clean, functional. And nice staff.

Good options for a Dar airport overnight stay. Comfy bed. Good service. Late check in at midnight, early check out at 4am. Only option close to the airport so it worked.

Shuttle pickup worked easily and the Lodge is close to the airport, esp. for drop-off. Room was small but efficient. Aircon worked, got a decent meal late (but no Killy on hand to wash it down). Breakfast limited but have a Spanish Omelette. Neighbourhood is industrial, but for a short transit stay, worked well. And take advantage of the views on the terrace.

The staff was great. However, the facilities left a lot to be desired. The air conditioner in my room was not working properly, so it was uncomfortable for sleeping. Also, given the proximity to the airport when a plane, even in the middle of the night lands or takes off the sound in my room was deafening. Also, the thank you got my coffee no problem thank you thank you very much power went out in the morning. The staff said that the power goes out all around the city in different places at least a couple of hours a day.

Noisy with an electric generator running all night, they keep losing power all night long, didn’t pick me up at the airport excuses were no power all day to answer phone or emails, uncomfortable bed, no hot water in shower, mosque next door praying extremely loud and it’s insane, didn’t sleep or rest all night long.

I selected this hotel as it's right next to the airport as we arrived late from Malawi and left for Zanzibar 7am the next morning. The hotel is perfect for that. The staff are very helpful, the place was also clean and safe and air-conditioner worked well. Personally what I did not like was that I could not purchase a beer as they don't sell alcohol. I had not checked on this before I booked. Also the shower is the bathroom so when you have a shower the whole bathroom gets basically wet, there is no shower cubicle. The electrical connections to the hot water heater was exposed in the bathroom and the last thing was the food was not great, the chicken wings we ordered was burnt to a crisp, however my wife told me that this is the way people eat chicken wings in East Africa so I guess for others it would have been a good meal.The last thing is that it's noisy, the hotel is not sound proofed and at the end of a runway..also when people talk in the passageway you can clearly hear what they say in the bedroom. Anyway for the price and to use as a transit hotel it's fine.

The room was basic. It is very near to the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were met at the airport in the middle of the night. This is not a hotel to spend your holiday, but as one night in between flights it was fine.

Clean, comfortable and reliable airport pickup/drop off. We had a 5:20am flight out and they took us at 3am (no charge). We even had a tasty dinner there. Friendly staff.

If you need to stay close to the airport for an early flight, this is a great option. Simple but clean and super welcoming staff. It offers free breakfast and has food service. Also offers free airport transfers which is very convenient.

As suggested, I re-confirmed my reservation 1 week before my arrival, along with my request for the complimentary shuttle to meet me at Nyerere Airport late that night. It was confirmed on the Expedia website that the driver would be there to meet me for the ~4 minute drive to the hotel. But no driver was there. Finally, after roughly 2 hours (nearly 1:00 am) with some kind help from the airport staff, a shuttle did arrive. Once finally there, I was greeted by a very polite and apologetic night manager, who showed me to the room. It was clean and comfortable, and that was all I needed. He had a nice breakfast fixed for me before I departed for the airport in the morning, and he and all the staff were very kind. I would stay there again, but would plan other transportation from/to the airport.
