30/12/2017 Best advice is DON"T STAY THERE , the room (319) was far worse than any backpackers we have ever stayed in. White towels were thread bear and GREY. Bottom of bath/shower was dirty and handbasin plug didn"t work.
TV was old, bulky 1970"s and difficult to view. Pool surroundings old and DIRTY, couldnt bring myself to have a swim NO GUEST"S COMPUTER IN LOBBY & WI FI WAS POOR Difficult to do on line boarding passes
It's an Airport hotel, we arrived at 12.30 am tired and a little hungry. We couldn't get any milk or ice, no room service and only ONE drinking glass in entire room for two people.
Time Square, shopping centre is a short distance away, however shuttle delivers you there only every 2 hours and picks you up every 2 hours Round trip 4 hours; too long if you have only a stop over $5.00 p/p each way any other time, yet they go past it on way to and from the Airport. WE question why you have it advertised on Hotels.com !!!
Staff were very friendly and obviously embarassed by their management; we felt sorry for them

Came back here for a return stay. Comfortable and spacious room for a twin share. As a Muslim, I was very grateful for the provision of the prayer mat and Quran.
Facilities are basic, but its the friendly staff that made the stay better. Pool was nice, Spa was nice, with a variety of treatment available.
Shuttle service to Times Hotel are available at fixed frequency, and u can approach the friendly receptionist for taxi booking to take u elsewhere in Brunei.
Only complaint is that some of the towels for the guests, are quite "dark"in colour. I think new towels are to be purchased sooner rather than later.
Overall, a good stay in Orchid Garden.

The hotel does not get five stars from me because everywhere is at least five miles away with taxis not too cheap. The hotel, offers a shuttle to a not very exciting Mall, otherwise pick the hotel up and move it to where the action (?) is and it would rate four stars in my book. The information in the book in our room was not accurate...many things had been cancelled like the In hotel travel agent and the times and places of the shuttle which failed to go there. I did book a shuttle to meet me at the airport but although the shuttle turned up it was not to meet me and my friend. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly but one of them didn't know what was going on and always had to refer to someone else before I got any answers. Breakfast fine and pool okay.

It is hard to make a comparison with other hotels in Brunei but for me it was not the one I can recommend strongly. The location was near to the airport and that is a good advantage for this hotel.
However, I see that the sanitation of the hotel did not seem to be very good. For example, when I wanted to fill the hot water in my bath tub the water color looked to be brownish and I felt very bad.
Also when I had a breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor, I saw many fries on the fresh salad and could not touch them.

Carpet in the room has a noticeable (200mm) wearing tear, furnishing and bathroom are worn and dated.
Towels are off white.
Equipments such as TV, DVD player, Hair Dryer are not plugged in and requiring adaptor which the room doesnt have.
Security safe in the room were locked and requested a couple times for it to be opened, but was never done.
Staffs are pleasant and courteous but not 4 star service, needs training.
There are only 40 taxis in Brunei as everyone has a car, need to know taxi driver number or make use of the Hotel Shuttle which is cheaper by half.
Airport to this hotel by taxi was BND$20, $5 by hotel shuttle to airport...obviously robbed by taxi as new comer.
Hotel to ICC by taxi was $10, by hotel shuttle $5.
Hotel to Central Shopping Centre by hotel shuttle was $10.
Hotel has free shuttle at nominated time, hourly.

Clean , close and comfortable. Good for a transit stop with close access to airport and city if required. Food adequate but a bit dull. Staff curtious .

From the first moment I was happy in this hotel.
After my arriving I could immediately have a sightseeing tour. Guide picked me up at the entrance of the hotel and we spent nice time together with other travellers to visit Water city at night, to see golden mosques at night lights and to go shopping in the shopping centre and old market. We had sea food for dinner, which was little bit strange but nice for me.
I had good trip following day day too. The hotel taxi brought me to the centrum and I walked everywhere alone. It was great experience. I can recommend this hotel to everybody.

Location convenient for airport, but not so for town centre, although shuttle to shopping centres compensated to some extent. Service very good, and staff always courteous & helpful. Quiet hotel, not for the thrill seeker but a good relaxing stopover.
