Ibis Sofia Airport

Only access to lobby is behind a gate, so taxi couldn't drop me off at entrance. The only outlets were on the far side of the room and not any in the bathroom. Sign in elevator advertised kitchen open until 10:30 pm, but was told by the bartender at 10pm that nothing was available. Appreciate that breakfast bag was available to take for early departure. Would not stay here again except for the shuttle to the airport

The hotel and restaurant were wonderful. We were unable to use the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel so we had to walk. It's doable but not pleasant with luggage. Taxi wanted cash only!

Had 3 hours of sleep before needing to go to the airport and this was the only option but it was a little too pricey for throse few hours….

I arrived in Sofia airport and requested for a pick-up from the airport. We were told it’ll be 15 mins. I waited for a full hour before I finally saw a van with the Ibis sign. The driver was dropping someone off and was about to leave when I approached him - I was very annoyed and disappointed. I voiced my opinion when it had taken him an hour when I was told it would be 15 mins. I don’t mind waiting but be honest with me. It I was told 15 mins, I expected it to be either on time or 10-15 mins late but with an explanation. Not 45 mins late and was then screamed at the entire way to the hotel by the rude, obnoxious drive. He is an absolutely arrogant and represents your hotel extremely poorly. I told him I had called him 2 times on the hotel shuttle mobile number he refuted it. Even after I had shown his the missed calls. He continued to argue with him and shouted at me. It got no where as I said to him I would discuss the service failure with the Hotel Manager. He replied rudely and arrogantly “YOU CAN TALK TO WHOEVER YOU WANT”. What a rude and arrogant man. When I arrived at the hotel, I spoke to the Manager on duty. He apologised profusely and remembered very well when the call was made for pickup. He was also at a loss why he didn’t turn up as promised. My hunch is, the shuttle driver had forgotten to pick me up and never did turn up. When I turned up in his face when he dropped someone off, he was taken aback I was even waiting for him!

Dirty, cockroaches, old, the driver is rude, the shuttle is small.

As an airport hotel for short stays, it is very good. The distant view out my window was to the Balkans, which was interesting because of the snow and storms. Good entertainment without TV! Then the view next to the hotel is apparently the Sofia car impound lot. Even though the views are grand, the neighborhood is not so nice. Stay inside!

Great access from airport, leaving by car is traffic plagued in what appears to be a rather unsafe neighbourhood, though the hotel was very secure. Staff were professional, helpful and exceptionally friendly.
