Holiday Inn Accra Airport, an IHG Hotel

Friendly service but rooms were jaded and in need of upgrade. Approached by hookers on the terrace (in front of staff). Twin room, not queen bed. Helpful airport transfer. Breakfast adequate. Just needs a lot of upgrading to meet the rather hefty single night hotel charge.

Proximity to the airport was great and the food was excellent. Ghanian dishes were available and delicious. Sarah at the from desk was extremely help ful along with Gifty the manager.

Just ok one of the most expensive in the area however good service and amenities and close to the airport.

Arrived on a later evening flight (8:30pm) and the convenience of airport pickup was key in the selection for a first time visit to Accra. Breakfast was quite good; hot and cold items.

Accra hotels are expensive but the Holiday Inn is good 3-4* value for business visitors and tourists. It was much better than expected : We would happily stay there again. Close to the airport (free shuttle), it is well placed for driving downtown or to the Labadi beach and is near main routes out of the capital. There is a modern shopping mall, in easy walking distance, and a bank in the hotel grounds. Top restaurants are further away. The staff were very helpful and professional. They showed a genuine 'can-do' enthusiasm. Our standard room was comfortable and clean. Services worked: the aircon was quiet and really cooled! The complimentary breakfast offered a wide choice. Other meals- at the bar or in the restaurant- were perfectly acceptable, while not pretending to be haute cuisine. There is a good, big, swimming pool.

I've stayed at this HI many times. It is usually full of business travelers as it is very close to Accra airport. Few hotels in Accra have the conveniences this hotel has, such as shuttle to airport, business center for printing and computer use, full restaurant and breakfast buffet with a good variety of food, large rooms with wifi, and a large restaurant, bar, and lobby where it is easy to meet for a business lunch, etc. That's about all I can say about this hotel. The rooms are old but large, the desk staff is not very friendly, and the hotel has more foreign visitors and white folk than it has Africans. If you want to see Ghana, avoid this place, but if you're traveling on business then staying here can save you a lot of time and trouble finding what you need in Accra.
