Sonder Mountjoy Square

Dublin was our second to last stop in two months of travelling. Sonder apartment hit and miss. Very grim dirty street, felt unsafe with nearby residents. Is about a 10-15 minute to city so that was good. We were on 3rd floor of very old building with extremely narrow staircase and no lift, very difficult with large suitcases and would not be suitable for anyone with health or walking issues. Dublin city very busy as we hit weekend when a lot of concerts etc on. Great meal at The Oval pub in central city, lovely wee Irish pub with good service and music. Apartment spacious but in need of some care especially the windows which are rotting away and apartment quite musty with no air con. In favour there was a washing machine to use and all the staff very efficient and friendly. Nice enough but not as nice as the photos look online.

On arrival no help with 3 bags which I had to drag up numerous flights of stairs. No milk in room and when asked about that she said it hadn’t been delivered and told me to buy myself from shop down the road. The stairs are old and slope downwards, I slipped with my heavy suitcase and ended up with sore foot. On last night I came across a lady struggling to get 2 cases up the stairs. 3 floors. The bedroom faced the road and very noisy busy intersectION and pub across the road. The shower was the smallest I have ever seen On the good side, easy to walk into town and good kitchen in room.

We booked the hotel on March 1st, as it was an early flight, we wanted to check in at the earliest time possible, so to check in at 1.00pm, we was told it would be 40 Euros extra We arrived around 10.45, spoke with the receptionist and asked what sort of time our room would be ready, after a few enquiries she said it’s ready now So I asked if my room is ready now is there any chance you can reimburse me, she said sorry no Very disappointed with, seemed like an easy way of getting more money out of you The room was nice, bed was a little to small I won’t be using Sonder again

Requested an infant bed which was never received. Arrived with my 2 and 7 year olds from England and had to share a small double which had a bed bug on! There were hairs in the shower and on the bathroom floor! The glass table was broken making it dangerous for kids. The TV didnt work properly either but was told there were no smart tvs. Due to the bed bugs we had to move rooms the same evening and the other room was more like i had actually booked and paid even had a smart tv!! The cleanliness still wasnt great though and while out shopping with my children I receive an email stating a reservation had been made elsewhere at another location, causing so much anxiety understandably! We made our way back and I couldn't get in as they couldn't give me the access code for the door. I booked an early flight home with my toddler and 7 year old who is autistic as the whole experience was really unsettling for her especially, what a waste of time and money! Definitely overpriced too!! I contacted Sonder customer services before leaving and having explained the situation to them they understood why I'd like a refund. The manager has since declined to give any form of a refund to myself and I have had not a single bit of communication from them either! Says it all really.

Older building but nice. Everything worked inside. If you're traveling from America, youll need plug adapters for all electronics. Great Location
