Wyndham Grand Algarve

Hotel is incredible and staff and excellent and very accommodating and friendly. Lovely rooms and the beds are massive and very comfortable. Rooms are spacious and pretty much everything you need for self catering, daily housekeeping. Swimming pool is absolutely fantastic and the kids were always in it if we weren’t at the beach or elsewhere (I’d recommend sunrise rooms instead of sunset). Breakfast is on another level, we assumed we were just getting continental but you get everything, the spreads are unreal and there isn’t anything they haven’t thought about you could have for breakfast. Restaurant food there is really good but quite expensive, there are loads of restaurants that you could go around and visit or just get stuff in or takeaway. We also found the Uber service over there excellent, got a taxi in minutes from pretty much anywhere so no need for car unless you want or to further a field. Uber was half the price of a transfer booked with the hotel, yes it’s less luxury and you get what you pay for but it’s only 15mins up the road. Overall was it value for money? yes, in terms of the location, facilities and excellent service and hotel is at a very high standard. Would highly recommend. We’re hoping to go back!

I stayed here two months ago and it was perfect. This trip was very different, mainly because it was half term and the hotel was overran with children making noise in the hallways and outside our room at 6:30am. The hotel seemed to struggle running at full occupancy. When we left, we waited 15 minutes to check out but ended up having to leave our room keys on the side and heading to the airport. Nobody in that time even acknowledged us. This was a disappointing stay. Next time I’ll go to the Conrad. Avoid at all costs in the school holidays

Loved this hotel. They did an excellent job on everything! Very clean. Very top-notch. Pool area was beautiful. Food was wonderful. Food was slightly expensive but still good. Area is very beautiful and safe. Little bit of a walk to the beach so more difficult if you had children in the off-season. The shuttle they run to the beach doesn’t run in the off-season and the pool bar is not open in the off-season just so people are aware. I think if I went again, I would come in a slightly warmer time. But everything was excellent! Definitely five star. The VIP benefits almost seem irrelevant. They did acknowledge them, but had no extra upgrades available and we typically don’t take advantage of spa services. Would be nice to include some basic amenities in VIP plan?

From start to finish our stay was superb. We were on an early flight and arrived at 930am to be offered complimentary breakfast and use of spa etc until our suite was ready. We had dinner in the restaurant ( rather than the bar ) one night and again food superb and service excellent. Staff could not have been more pleasant whilst professional.
