Beautiful property with ocean viewing rooms (partial and full), lovely promenade, clean, decent breakfast buffet, and very comfortable and spacious deluxe suites. Not too far from Funchal, if one is looking for night life, restaurants, and tours. Parking on premises is limited but free, there are paid parking options just outside the premises. I would stay here again.

We were booked at the Views Baia but it was being renovated (apparently they didn’t know this a month ago when we booked). Would have preferred the Baia location, instead of middle of the city. Also cost us 50 euros extra in taxi fees.

A lovely hotel in a sleepy seaside locale, halfway between the airport and Funchal. It overlooks a small promenade, the Atlantic, and to the left, a group of quiet islands hiding the sunrise. Canico village is up the hill, with market squares and a beautiful church.
From arrival to departure, everyone was friendly, helpful, and many had a cheeky sense of humour. The room was clean, had comfy chairs and beds, a kettle and lots of Tetley teabags, a concession to being a Brit abroad.
This is a Green hotel, with good credentials and equipment. There is a triple recycling bin in the room, and no little bottles in the bathroom, but you do get good quality soaps and shampoos in wall dispensers; I'd equate it to between Dove and Molten Brown.
There are outside and inside pools, and a hot tub. The spa includes steam room and sauna, and treatment rooms. There's an outdoor gym, and an indoor one. They even have a nice sized veg and herb garden, used in the kitchens.
Food was good, and breakfast had subtle changes everyday, so that you'd always find something from freshly made omelettes through cereals, cold meats, cheeses, breads, 1, 3 and 6 minute boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, etc, etc. You could even have a glass of fizz, if you're celebrating.
Out and about are hotels, bars, cafes and supermarkets. Everything from posh nosh to locals enjoying an end to their day.
We will return, hopefully soon.
