Nice hotel, very friendly staff! Was a bit let down by arriving and finding out there was only one member of staff in the whole hotel and no food was on! We had travelled for 4&1/2 hours so a bit disappointing. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable! However nice decor and very clean could use some updating in some areas!

Had a great time. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Happy to go that extra mile. The only issue was parking. Only room for roughly about 10 cars, first come, first serve. Had to park up, on main road, down the hill. I would of prefered to park on sight.

The advertising for this hotel is not accurate. When I arrived after a long drive with my five month old baby there was no parking and this meant that I had to park on double yellows and display my son’s disabled badge. When I got in to the hotel with baby in pram and our luggage, I was told that the lift was not working so would have to carry the buggy up the stairs.
I was moved to a family room instead of an inaccessible twin but this meant weaving through narrow corridors and heavy fire doors.
The room itself was quite large but there was no cot available/ offered so my son had to sleep in the double with me. The room although clean looking was in disrepair and I found sweets on the floor!
The room had no heating and was cold at night which was not suitable for the baby sleeping. This can’t of been helped by the single glazed windows.
There was tea and coffee facilities in the room and the linen and towels were very clean which was good.
Ultimately all I can say it that this hotel is absolutely not suitable for single parents especially with young children. Had I been aware I would never have booked a stay at the mount rooms.
I will not be returning

Christmas party night at this hotel when we arrived. We were offered ear plugs - our room was on the first floor and noise was so loud our beds were vibrating. Stayed with my 10 year old daughter, we couldn’t go to sleep until after midnight when the music stopped. No answer from the phone line, despite being told there would be availability 24 hours. Beds the most uncomfortable I’ve ever stayed in, could feel every spring. One thin pillow. The thinnest curtains. Walls so thin I could hear people talking, phone alarm going off in another room. Despite being told there was free parking, the car park was tiny with less than 10 spaces and really hard to get to. Had to drive around neighbouring streets to find something. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We have friends in the area and were visiting for the weekend, we will certainly not be back.

Liked everything apart from the poor bed and poor pillow, to be honest there was only 1 pillow each and the bed was cheap and nasty.
Also parking was an issue and it's NOT suitable for disabled people especially wheelchair users infact you won't be able to get a wheelchair to the door.
Staff were awesome

Following some of the reviews i arrived ferling nervous, however i was really impressed. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The room was large, clean and well laid out.
There was some noise from a wedding party (which is understandable and beyond the hotels control) however the reception team were honest and did warn me when i checked in, and offered earplugs.
I thought this added to the vibrancy of the hotel, however if you like quiet other hotels maybe better for you.
The bed was so comfortable and i slept well.
The hotel is a short walk from Barry Island and there are shops and a wetherspoons nearby.
The shower takes a while to get used to but worked ok.
The hotel has been really honest about on site parking and i didnt attempt to park at the hotel however there is lots of parking available on the road.
If you have mobility issues or require a wheelchair this maybe not the hotel for you.
Overall a very positive experience and would recommend

1 night twin room.
Information misleading on website as to availability of food and drink.
1 bed the mattress needed replacing as springs were poking through. HK did supply a spare duvet as base but my granddaughter didn’t have a comfortable sleep.
Car parking limited and full of potholes!
Would not stay again.

We booked a sea view room and when we arrived we were told that as we booked through third party ( expedia) we couldn't have the sea view could hear doors slamming in corridor. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Asked for a fan as it was too hot which was supplied. Limited parking, first come first served otherwise street parking.

Very clean, friendly staff but let down by tired furnishings (bed was not at all comfortable - springs gone, old stained carpet). No curtains just a roller blind so eye mask required! Noisy hotel, sounds travel - can hear people walking in corridor.
