Tt's basically a travellers place to stay for an evening or two I would say. Having said that, it's also a good location if you want to use it to explore the area by car. I found the reception fine, the small bar area was fine - but shock horror no Guinness. I booked two rooms, a double for me and my wife and a room, with single beds, for my daughter. Somehow that got reversed, so a bit more attention to detail. Both rooms were clean, fresh and functional. Huge bath in ours and good water pressure, although the shower fitting is not really made for anyone over 5' 2''. Bathroom well stoked with smellies, towels, tissues, and best of all a handrail in the shower/bath.
Beds were comfortable, with a decent amount of tea and coffee, could of done with somewhere to put our case to unpack, but that's just a small personal liking.
I have stayed in other hotels / B&B's in the area and have to say, for the price, this is by far the best value for money and also comfort. OK you can't go for a walk to a local restaurant or bar and wander back, you'll have to use the car, but I found that ok as a nightcap can be had a the the fairly decent small bar, a tad dear, but I'm happy to pay for this sort of convenience.

The original room was allocated on the first floor, being disabled, stairs are not an option.
The receptionist transfered me to the ground floor within seconds and apologised for any inconvenience.

Do not save here if its saving you a small amount, pay the extra for a decent bed! We booked a twin room and when entering the room received 1 single bed and one folded out bed, neither of which were comfortable at all!!
Staff on reception was not welcoming or wanting to express anything other than her anger when on the desk on both check in and check out.
I booked to save some pounds as we only needed for the night before a very early flight, would never do it again

This hotel is a joke,
I have been given a parking fine for every night I stayed there, clearly the staff don't know how to check people in.

Mixed feelings about this place. First impressions on arriving: an efficient check in by a receptionist with mimimal interaction didn't give us the 'Wow' factor. We felt quite dismissed when we asked things. In contrast, the receptionists this morning were much more engaging, even despite my typo the night before. Sorry again. The word I wanted was APATHETIC. Not pathetic as we were told was recorded!!
The room was accessible for disability. Well done I have to say.. but we booked a twin room. Consequently the room, while very clean, was SPARSE and VERY HOT!! The window only opened a little and noise from the nearby A50 meant it had to be closed at night. No A/C or fan. Would have helped. The food menu was very basic - Pizza or 2 curries. The shop attached was a real rescue.
Car parking was great and the booking very affordable. It was breakfast included'. A box with cereal, cartons of milk and juice, a flapjack and a cold pain au chocolat. Not exactly mouth watering!
So, in summary, some positives but a lot lacking even despite the price. Would we use it again? Probably not I'm afraid.
Apologies again for the inadvertent offence.
Hope this is seen as more constructive.
