Overview

The Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn receives mixed reviews. While guests appreciate its convenient location, spacious rooms, and friendly staff, a significant concern is the unexpected parking fee, frequently cited as a negative surprise. The hotel's cleanliness is also a point of contention, with some reporting issues such as stained linens and excessive dust. Positive comments focus on the ease of parking itself and the helpfulness of shuttle drivers. Upon check in, was informed of a daily fee to park car in hotel parking lot. This should have been disclosed in advance. There was a junk car full of garbage! Full to the roof (except for the drivers seat)! This car did not have the purchased parking pass and when I asked the concierge, he said it belonged to a guest and that he didn't know why some had a paid parking pass and some didn't. We also requested connecting rooms. Called multiple times prior to arrival to ensure we got them since we were traveling as a family with children. Upon arrival, there were not only no connecting rooms, we didn't even get rooms next to each other. For $2000 for 3 nights, we should have been able to have our room next to our children's room. And for that price, why did I have to cough up an extra $10 per day to have my car in their parking lot? The hotel was housing some people displaced by a fire so there were many, many people sitting outside the front door, in their pajamas, smoking and hanging out. Probably why I lost my connecting rooms. Again, I paid a lot of money and because the hotel had a change of circumstance, it should not have affected me.

The room was good, the pool was extremely cold. One of the reasons I choose to stay away from downtown hotels was because I didn’t want to pay for parking and this hotel charges you for parking which I think is ridiculous the hotel sits on its own property with plenty of parking

Great hotel but didn't like paying $10 to park my car when there's plenty of parking in the lot of the hotel.

Ive stayed at this hotel a few times and the hotel is great. Although, this last time I was charged a parking fee for every day I parked on their property. This is new and I am not a fan of being charged to park when I am already paying for a hotel room.

We have stayed at this property many times when visiting Chicago. Sadly times have changed with new fees and charges. We now have to pay $10/day to park in the lot. We now have to pay $20/plate for lukewarm buffet breakfast (used to be included in the room charge). We used to get free bottled water but now its $2-8 per bottle. We ordered room service (a single order of 8 wing pieces, a single club sandwich and order of calamari)....$75 before tip! Crazy! And we had to call down more than once for towels as we were travelling with children. We wont likely return to this hotel. Too many outrageous fees.

If you stay here, I do alot, there should be two bottles of Pure Life water and two bottles of Fiji water. When you get to the room make sure they are all there. They will charge you for anything that is missing whether you used it or not. Report it to the front desk immediately if any are missing. I travel with several others to this hotel on a regular basis and all of us usually find each other at the front desk immediately after getting to the room, short on water. It's quite the scam at $8.00 each. It's always the expensive one or two that are missing.
