Nightcap at St Albans Hotel

You get what you pay for and this was an easy and fine place for us to stay for the night and close to where we needed to be. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is not well signed, it is actually the St Albans Hotel club so is above the local 'club'. Due to this, is noisy into the night. The hotel parking was limited as the club patrons seem to try and park as close as they can to the front door. There is a substantial car park next to the building for patrons and hotel guests can use this as well. There are security cameras but I felt less safe parking there. The room itself was fine, with everything we needed. The TV's and beds were excellent. The hotel is so close to amazing food.

The room was clean but the people in the other rooms were quite noisy and each time a guest left or returned to their room, every noise echoed down the hall and I suspect this is common issue. There is even signs in the rooms saying “if it’s noisy to call a number”. The other issue was I assume one of the guest was smoking in the bathroom nearby and that smell travelled into our bathroom. So, my advice is remember “you get what you pay for” and if you want a better experience, pay extra and stay elsewhere.
