Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Resort

This place was the best! It was just what our family wanted. We had an affordable 3-bedroom unit for 6 of us. We spend countless hours on the patio overlooking the marina and a short walk to either pool. They have tennis courts, paddle boards, kayaks, bikes, etc. Convenient restaurant and bar onsite. We rented a vehicle onsite and traveled all around the island. For those who did not rent a vehicle, there is a shuttle that runs to the market and the beach most days. We try not to go back to the same place twice as there is so much to see and do in this world. But, we will be back here due to the easy flight from NC (thanks Bahamas Air), ease of traveling around this island, wonderful people, great food, etc. It was relaxing but there was also plenty to see and do.

We stayed at this property August 18th-20th and had an early 8am check in. The lady at the front desk that checked us in was soooo nice, I wish I could've packed her up and take her with me lol. The sad part is I didn't get her name because we were tired from traveling ;( nonetheless, we are traveling back again to freeport in January and hope to see her again. Ps Heineken in the morning does the trick :D We loved everything about the property.

The ocean reef was everything we could have asked for. This was only my second visit to the Bahamas and my companion's first. The Ocean Reef staff made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped out of the cab. The staff is helpful and friendly. We had a one bedroom apartment that was roomy and well appointed looking out over the channel. My companion participated in the Introduction to Scuba class offered by Fred and Melinda at Grand Bahama Scuba, located right there at the hotel. This was a diving trip for me and I chose the Ocean Reef because of Grand Bahama Scuba being located there. If you want to go diving while you're on Grand Bahama, look them up. We walked to the beach and the Lucaya marketplace. If you don't like to walk, and don't want to pay the price of a taxi, they have a daily beach shuttle and the buses can get you just about anywhere for a very reasonable price. The Ocean Reef also has a free shuttle that will take you to the grocery. I think the staff makes the hotel, and the Ocean Reef has an excellent staff. They were rather persistent in their Time Share marketing. Over all, I would definitely recommend the Ocean Reef to friends and fellow divers.
