Unfortunately we did not get to stay here. I had our suite room booked since may and upon arrival they informed us that our room was not going to be available. We had 2 young children with us, therefore the suite was our only option. They offered us other rooms, and free breakfast (which was complimentary anyway) but the room offered was not appropriate for us. The lady at the front desk was very kind, however we had travelled 6 hours to get to our hotel only to find out it was not available. A curtesy call ahead of arrival would have been appreciated. Instead we had to find a new hotel appropriate for our family in the parking lot.

Elevator was non functional yet we were asked to take a 4th floor room requiring carrying luggage up 4 flights of stains so we declined and asked for a main floor room

When I got there, the snow wasn’t properly cleaned so parking was a little bit of an issue. I checked in at the front desk one of the front desk people I could barely understand doesn’t speak very good English got to my room and found a loonie and a clothesline clip on the floor. Through out the night there was a lot of noise out in the hallway, which made it hard to sleep.

Checked in and got to our room only to discover that there was hairs all over the pillows on both beds. I wouldnt care if there was just 1 or 2 stray hairs, people have pets and sometimes hairs may travel but it was an excessive amount on all 8 pillows!! We were offered to switch rooms but there was still hairs on those pillows as well. This is the second time we have had issues with the rooms when checking in (first time was blood on sheets) so chances of me booking there again is slim!! Very disappointed and aside from free breakfast, nothing was offered to compensate. The parking lot was also very slippery and both of us slipped when getting back to the hotel friday night. When i told the employee at the front desk he basically said "what do you want me to do about it?" If one of us had to fall, I would've been very upset with that response!! Only good thing about this hotel was the food at East Side Marios.

Loved the double water slides in the pool area. East Side Mario’s on site was convenient. Beautiful views of two lakes one in the front and back. Relaxing walks around the ponds. We took the bus into the city. Short bus ride of 20 mins and only $2.50. Way better than taxi. Groceries and a few places to eat were within a 10 min walk. Our room was upgraded when we first got there which was nice gesture as we had no fridge. Our room was an older room as the lower floors were newly renovated but the view from our room overlooking Kevin’s Lake and signal hill was well worth it. We also had trouble with not enough laundry machines on site. Only 2 washers and 2 dryers. Front desk also ran out of detergent which we had to skimp one box for two loads. Overall it was a great stay and our room 559 was big and spacious just a little outdated. Also I found it strange no ‘Do not disturb’ signs on the doors so we got a knock on the door every day which was disturbing as we stayed a week and wanted to sleep in a couple times.

This Holiday Inn was ok. Our room was not very clean (the floors didn't look vacuumed, there was a blue smear of something on the bathroom wall, and the balcony was mossy and unusable). The beds and bedding were clean, which is the important part. There were some sketchy people in the building - lots of smokers everywhere and halls with lots of beer can empties out in the open. The lobby did not have enough casual seating for people, and there is a strong smell near the doors to the parking lot. I don't know what it was, but it was a dusty, musky smell. There were a lot of conferences happening which is fine, but lots of garbage left over when everyone left for the day. The pool was fun for the kids, as was the water slide, but the gym could have used some maintenance. For the 4 days I was stuck there, they only had water available on the 1st day. The equipment works well enough, though some of it looks damaged. East Side Mario's is attached to the hotel and is easy to get to, but prices seemed high for the quantity of food you get (all-you-can-eat aside, of course). The staff were all nice. Room cards though were constantly not working (probably my fault for having them too close to my phone, even though they were in different pockets). There were lots of kids in the building on the weekend I was there (including my own) but I wouldn't leave them unattended - there are some shady individuals just lounging inside and outside of the building. I wouldn't stay again

Graduation had parking lot full. I had a family member living in personal care home rushed to hospital by ambulance. I couldn't leave as my parking space would have been taken. I was told maybe late in night some may leave. When you check in you should be given a numbered parking space so you can be assured of a place to park. Friday morning the breakfast room was dirty juice spilt on tables and floor sticky. Many tables not cleaned. Stood with other parties 4 mins being ignored and finally called out to us saying just sit anywhere. The cook had covid so no breakfast from the menu. Waitress said she could draw from a buffet in the basement of the hotel but you could have bacon or 2 sausages, egg beaters, and a tiny 2 inch triangle hash brown, toast which came not toasted just a slight grill mark and no butter. I paid extra to have a full hot breakfast in their east side mario restaurant . Not these scraps from a conventionbuffet they picked up downstairs and brought up to me.They should of had a plan in place in covid times. Lastly I stayed 2 nights but was not informed that there was no room service for people staying 2 nts. Very glad I didn't stay the remainder 5 nights at this hotel
