When I checked my mom into the room. I over heard the front desk saying the security people needed to man all doors and keep an eye on the Indigenous people coming from the bombers game. Make sure they walked into the establishment quietly. No slamming doors and remind “these people” not to be loud. I seen these men walking all around the hotel very aggressive and staring down people. I found that very disturbing because how aggressive the men were towards these children and adults. What I witnessed was the children and the adults coming into the hotel.. they looked tired but happy they experienced their first bombers game. I did not hear any loud noise. It’s Very discriminating to assume Indigenous people are going to be loud and go in and out.. when MKO paid for young children’s flights and paid for the hotels to attend the orange shirt Bombers game. Not very reconciliation of Victoria Inn. What they did is against reconciliation and they judged Indigenous people before they even came back from the Bomber game. Also I didn’t like that the security guards Asking what floor I stayed and where I was going. I know the hotel paid them to protect the establishment but they are not paid to discriminate. That is against the human rights code.

We travelled 8 hours to get to the hotel. When we walked into the room, the smell was foul. The smell was so bad it gave me and my partner headaches. We complained to front desk, they sent in housekeeping who claimed “smell was not bad”-they also sent in maintenance man who claimed “he didn’t smell a thing”. I called requesting to be moved to another room. They said housekeeping said it was okay after spraying disinfectant in the room. They also said I can only be moved to a standard room at the same price (I booked a deluxe room). Nobody was any help our first night!!! They did move us the next morning to a theme room. We went check the first room to find out it was a broken toilet seal! We had to sleep in a sewer smell room - with NO refund for our first night!! Ruined my whole trip. I cut it short. I was not happy with the service. Right now, I wouldn’t recommend Victoria inn to anyone.

Apart from the fire alarm going off at 9:00 pm, we had a good overnight stay before our flight. Airport shuttle is great and the beds are comfortable.

It’s alright. My mother had a separate room from me and my family and when she first checked in, the room was HOT and AC was not working and read 25 degrees Celsius in 40 weather outside. She also mentioned it having a nasty wet mop like smell. She took pictures of the thermostat and spent over 15 mins calling down to front desk with no answer before finally moving all her luggage and going back downstairs with it. After confronting the front desk staff and showing them the pictures of the thermostat, they gave her a new room. Our room was fine, had the AC working and everything but the cleanliness of the room was lacking in areas. Spotty places here and there. Found sticky spots on the cabinetry. We also had police show up to our neighbours room across the hallway, had screaming children all down our side of the building, and our entire floor always smelled of cannabis. There really was no way to pinpoint the culprit room but I was travelling with my own children too and having to walk through that was disgusting each day. I’ve stayed there before with other incidents as well. It’s average overall. Get a room on the second floor to not have to deal with a hot room I would say as first floor was very humid from the pool and the fourth floor didn’t have a working AC in one room. It’s also easier to use the stairs than to wait for an elevator and being on second floor is pretty convenient as it’s not very far up if you park in the back. Staff are always great though.

We arrived at the hotel and they did not have a reservation for us. Apparently their system didn’t communicate with Expedia. We were transferred to the assistant manager who found the request but it was never confirmed. He was very accommodating and instead of a double queen we were put up in a King. Which we were happy to have a room, but 4 people in one bed wasn't that amazing. The hotel is nice and the main reason we booked it was for the swimming park. The swimming area was amazing but Saturday night was packed and nobody was supervising their kids. I would stay again but would prefer staying midweek.
