Nice hotel, very good restaurants, great location. If you are looking for sandy beach there isn’t any. Beautiful water is only steps away. Short walk to public beach if you want the sand. Nice floating rafts, paddle boarding, kayak, snorkeling available. Plenty of lounge chairs around pool. For the price would be nice to offer shuttles to nearby airport and around town. Downside- no pickleball court! Beautiful pickleball facility nearby but $20 taxi ride.

Overall the property was good. When we stayed there was a decent amount of renovations going on (they had a makeshift gym versus an actually work out facility) which may have been communicated and I didn’t read. It is on the ocean but the area of the ocean is super rocky, not the clear blue water you go the grand cayman for- that section of the beach is about a mile away- walkable and obviously taxis are an option. For us, this meant we spent more time away from the hotel and didn’t get to take advantage of any of the amenities your “resort fee” goes to. The staff were generally very helpful, the rooms were decent. Just not sure I would stay again since my goal was to stay directly on the beach.

Orbitz didnt disclose that this property was under construction and not a "beach house". This Marriott is NOT on the beach!! And wow, the hidden fees felt like we had Verizon! When you book 3rd party there are resort fees @50 Cayman dollars per day!!
Called Orbit to let them know of our astonishment when we saw no beach on this property and under construction with no workout facility except a small hotel room in its place, which was NOT adequate. Orbitz didnt care. Kept getting transferred then they said they'd call back to help us. Tbey did call back but that was after I had already called for the third time. Absolutely awful experience with Orbitz.

Everything on the property is run down except the lobby. Even in the renovated room we stayed in it smelled musty and there was water damage on the walls. Leaky pipes in the fitness room ceiling dripping into buckets, not enough parking spaces in the lot to guarantee you’ll have a spot when you return, tiny pool area. Staff were friendly, but wouldn’t recommend this property if visiting Grand Cayman.

As other reviews state, there's minimal beach left at this property. All stairs to the "beach" are roped off except one that's had a few extensions to reach the small sandy area that's left with a few beach chairs. During high tide this area is mostly underwater, but a "perk" is that it's only accessible by Mariott guests.
The staff is incredibly helpful and the food is probably the best in the nearby area. Lots of activities and events to do without ever leaving the resort, and most other activities on the island offer free shuttle services to the hotel. The resident iguana was also pretty neat.
If you arrive at the hotel and don't have contact solution, this is the one item that they don't seem to have/know what it is. There's a gas station 5 min away walking that has them in stock (:

Staff were amazing, everyone we encountered was pleasant and polite. We took advantage of the mixology and ceviche classes that were included in the resort fee, both excellent and the gentleman running them were very helpful and fun. We also borrowed the Go Pro cameras a couple of times, pool staff were very helpful. The resort is a little short on beach but the rafts in the ocean and the included paddle boards, kayaks, and paddleboard yoga were awesome. Lots of little free extras like ice cream or popsicles at the pool were nice. Great location, good restaurants on site and within an easy walk. Car parking is easy on site. Our housekeeper was terrific.

Our stay was not only excellent but personalized. This was our second visit to this property from NY within 6 months. This time, the weather allowed for some beach access though limited. Both the beach and pool were lively.
I traveled with a child. The Kids Club, Gesta and Priya were amazing. My daughter kept asking to spend time there. Unfortunately, some activities are limited by the number of kids that sign up eg movie night. The pool area was beautiful, fun and although there were kids present not too rowdy. The staff is great. They helped coordinate activities for us including a concert.
We cannot wait for our next vacation to this property.

I’m sure people already know there is no beach, and no longer any transportation to the private beach. You basically have to take a taxi yourself if you want to go. We went during spring break and it was really difficult to get pool chairs. The rooms itself were pretty run down, the shower was chipped and a little grimy. The rooms also felt a bit damp. All of our clothes had a damp smell when we left. The grounds were nice and well taken care of but overall I wouldn’t stay here again. Peppers restaurant across the street is really good and has great local curry. We ate at Veranda, marriotts restaurant, the last night and that was pretty good. We did a mixology class with Gustavo which was fun. He’s a great bartender, try his espresso martini! My son tried the jet ski and banana boat ride which was fun. That’s about it, it’s sad they no longer have a beach because of the hurricane, not their fault. However, when o go to a resort I like to have beachside amenities. It’s hard to get that here.

Resort fee is high, and what it covers is dubious or not useful. For instance, the beach is not particularly usable. So it covers a shuttle to a good beach. Classes - not my bag. Wi-fi - is it really a hotel without it? Bike rental - this was unexpected, but a good alternative to taxis, if you're up for it. (Rentals are due back at 6PM.) Communal sunscreen pumps - um, if I hadn't forgotten to pack my own...
A basic room, with some maintenance issues. Nice to have a balcony. Pool is on the small side, and loungers are in short supply.
Peppers restaurant across the street was widely recommended and was good. Other amenities easily within walking distance. I would stay here again.
