Platino Hotel & Casino

The place is well situated. The area is overall safe. Check-in was kind of slow they only have one person at the front desk and he had several people waiting to check-in as well. In the beginning I was annoyed with service since I had a reservation already paid and wanted to shower and change clothes. Eventually he made it to me and the process was quick . They asked for a $10 deposit for the fridge (drinks and chips). After that he asked someone to take our bags to the room. The room was very spacious, the internet service was great (very important when you traveling with children), very clean overall. There is not much to do in the hotel however one of the best part of it was a restaurant open 24 hours walking distance. It was about 5 minutes walk and was very safe. The check out process was okay. They sent someone to check the room to make sure we didn't use anything from the fridge. The hotel is 15 minutes away from the airport as well (Uber service about $15) .Highly recommended to people seeking a night or two in town.

It is an older, but well maintained property. The parking is excellent, and the restaurant food was very good, and well priced. We do not have any negatives to share !!!

Everyone at the property was absolutely wonderful and attentive. They message you prior to check-in and even offer to arrange for transportation (airport shuttle, rental car, tours). Lovely people.

I spent a night here on my to the airport. Pros: very clean, good value, short drive to the airport. Cons: location is safe but kind of in the middle of nowhere. No pool. Casino is small and mostly slots. Rooms somewhat dated. Overall, it served its purpose

This was definitely a no frills at all hotel and I am not a “frills”/fancy type of person. We just needed a place to rest for a few hours before an early flight so it was just that

For the amount paid and what is provided is an excellent value. It's not a luxury hotel and the hotel does not have an elevator. The hotel offers free breakfast and is more than adequate. It includes eggs, plantains, fried cheese. Coffee and choice of juice is provided. The menu may slightly change daily. The staff is attentive and helpful. No issues with the check-in /check-out process. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel has a casino that is open practically 24 hours for those who are interested. The only issue that I encountered during my three-night stay was no fault of the hotel was the rooster next door. The first two mornings he started roosting at 615am and roosted a few times until 700am and then he quieted down. That didn't bother me any. On the third morning he must have been partying with the chickens because he started roosting at 200am and went on until about 330am. Didn't hear him after that. He's on the property next door that faces the parking lot. I will be visiting Santiago again in April and I do plan on staying here again. I will request not have a room that faces the parking lot due to the rooster.
