Perfect location for our first night in Iceland (late flight). Clean, quiet and wonderful walking trails along the harbor.

Excellent hotel for the airport. Bed was very comfortable and room ensuite. Early check-in very helpful. Power and USB Points in bedroom. Check-in experience was poor. I am a pensioner and had to carry a heavy suitcase upstairs as I was told that the lift was broken. Shower was hopeless as its flooded the bathroom.

We have stayed here previously and were super impressed by the family staff, excellent food and the closeness to the airport. A huge plus was the free transport to the airport. This time our checkin was delayed to 4 pm when the sign behind the desk says 2:00pm and now there’s no shuttle to airport! This may affect our next booking with them! The food was exceptional, expensive, yes, but even their free breakfast was delicious. They offer breakfast even at 4:00 am to accommodate early flights. I wish they offered gluten free bread but that is the only negative thing I can state about their meal service. Our rooms overlooked the bay which was delightful.

My flight into Iceland was delayed by quite a long time so my time at Hotel Duus was cut a lot shorter than I was hoping for.
What I was able to glean about the hotel though, was that the place is very close to Keflavik airport, is very easy to find and is very clean.
Unfortunately, I was only here for the evening but everything was clean, the gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in checking in at a very late hour and getting a taxi back to the airport at a pretty early time.
If I were to come back to Keflavik and need to stay the evening at somewhere close to the airport and easy to find, I would definitely come back.

I had previously stayed at Hotel Duus a couple of years ago and had a good experience which is why I stayed again. I won’t be back a third time.
It started off great with a helpful night clerk who assisted me with taking my bag downstairs. I have mobility issues which is why I try to book hotels with an elevator, but my room was in the basement this time, and the elevator didn’t go to the basement. In situations like these, I’ll put my items that I need for the night into a much smaller shoulder bag that I can handle on stairs. The clerk assured me that the morning clerk would be happy to bring my back up the stairs, so I went ahead with the bigger bag.
When it came time for me to leave, no one was at the front desk, and when I called the phone number displayed at the front desk for such a situation, it sounded like I woke someone up. When I asked about help with my bag, I was told I needed to handle it myself. The man then said the morning person was sick, but that information only came after I pushed back about the night clerk stating somebody would be able to help me bring the bag up the stairs. As a result, I ended up tweaking my bad right knee, which hampered my ability to see sites in Barcelona.
As a solo, older, female traveler, I choose my accommodations carefully, and I can no longer recommend Hotel Duus, which is sad.
In addition to the above, there was only one, half-size, very uncomfortable pillow in the room.

When I booked it said it had a free shuttle to airport does not. Cost me $50 each way for taxi so an extra $100 on top of cost of accommodation which was not cheap, should have stayed in Reykjavik where I was at a great hotel City Centre Hotel. Hotel Duus is very shabby, towels were threadbare on edges, restaurant prices expensive and no other options close.

Was a good place to stay to catch an early morning flight. Desk person was super helpful and available when we checked in and had questions. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Since we didn’t have a car there were options for dinner within walking distance.

Clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was unique and food/drink was very good. While we were there the TV didn’t work. It was a short ride to the airport. Taxi cost ~$25. Good value for the room price

We stayed for one night prior to our flight the next morning. This hotel is old and quirky, and not in a good way. I didn’t like the small sink with no storage outside the bathroom, and the shower wet the bathroom floor. Towels were different colours and pillows were small with only one per bed. The “multiple beds” in our room meant one small sofa bed, which was the creakiest sofa bed I have ever heard. Every time my son turned to try to get comfortable, it woke both us and him up. Then, at midnight, the fire alarm in our room suddenly went off. The same happened to others as well. We went down to the lobby to be told there was no fire, the sensors are just “old”. Not reassuring. I honestly could not wait to get out of there and definitely would not recommend to anyone.

Read the recent reviews before booking. The high rating is inexplicable. I didn't mind most of the issues travelers complained about, but I did mind the paper-thin walls and floors. We had booked this place to stay before our early flight but got no sleep. I don't know how neighbors stomped around the tiny room for hours, but they did. Then at midnight there was a fire alarm. Then my husband fell ill. Not the hotel's fault of course, but when I went down in the morning to explain the situation and ask about late checkout (neither of us had any sleep and I had to change our flight because there was no way hubby could fly or anyone would want to be on a plane with him), the night desk clerk growled and pointed at the hotel hours sign like I was the world's largest and most annoying idiot and told me checkout ended at 11. No "sorry," no "let me check," not even, "there will be a charge." I tried to clarify in case there was a language barrier, and he just said, "we have to clean the rooms" and went back to staring at his phone. We were able to get early check-in at a nearby 4-star hotel for half the price.
