7km outside of Krakov, 25 to 30zl in a taxi to the centre. If you are happy with that then this is a good choice. Biggest downside to the hotel was the bar costs. A large beer costs (24zl) more than double what you will pay in the centre of Krakov (12zl).

I needed a hotel close to Krakow airport and this one looked the best based on star rating. Don't believe it! This place is at best a 3 star. It feels like one of those places that maybe in the 70s was up to standards but since then has never really been updated. Old fashioned, small rooms, bathroom you can't swing a cat in. Very confusing carpark ticketing system. And the restaurant... hmmm, similar atmosphere as the one from The Shining... If you're looking for a good, up-to-date, 5 star hotel, give this one a (big) miss.

Title says it all! Lovely hotel, very nice room for a very good price. Very comfortable, clean, with friendly staff. However, the location is pretty awful. It's either a taxi ride or a 10 minute walk + 15 minute tram journey into the centre. I didn't mind this, but I'm sure it wouldn't be ideal for a lot of people. If this isn't an issue, though, then I'd highly recommend the hotel.

The staff really hit the spot for us...there was always an English speaker (or three) available when wanted and we never came up with a query they couldn't answer. When our children presented me with flowers on arrival, a vase was produced with a big friendly smile before I even thought about it! Though we quite often took cheaper options than the ones they were recommending, their helpful, polite attitude never changed. It's the first place I ever heard the immortal phrase,"But you're rich Scots..!" (that was when we insisted that we were quite happy using public transport to get in to the centre...it was perfectly fine and pretty frequent!) The beds were solid and very comfortable, the buffet breakfast was terrific and the trip to town centre or airport was easy.

Our weekend in Krakow was when Pope Benedict visited, so hotel were hard to come by. The Piast was a pleasant surprise as it was close to the Airport (about 15 minutes) and not far from downtown Krakow (again 15 minutes, about 3-4 miles). The street entrance was a little off putting as it doesn't look kept up. This may be due to another hotel next door, which is closed. However when you proceed down the Piast's tree lined drive and pull up to the front of the hotel, it's very modern and beautifully landscaped, especially behind the hotel and restaurant. The staff knew English satisfactorily and were willing to help with any request. The restaurant was good although we had a hard time with one translated entree, it was called Shishkash on the menu (in both Polish and English) and after asking for an explanation, we still weren't sure, but it sounded tasty and we ordered it. Turns out it was a Shish kabob, and it WAS very tasty. Minor point, but the other entrees were clear and all of our food came out well prepared. The hotel is used by tour groups, so you can see groups of 20-30 marching into dinner or out to their tour, but it never seemed to impact service. So, overall, a very nice hotel, but the negatives are the distance from downtown (about 20 Zlotys or $6 USD for a taxi) and that most of the day tours (Auschwitz / Salt mine) don't usually pick you up that far out from the city center, however we managed and had a wonderful time.

Amazing spa in the basement (6 different kinds of sauna and pool). Very helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent and the garden area was beautiful. Very easy to organize cheap taxis to the center.

Great hotel with clean rooms, good breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We tour old square (a short taxi ride take you there) and Auschwitz. We booked a famiy room and had two rooms connected to each other. Perfect for family.
