Villa Montana Beach Resort

I absolutely lovedmy stay hereand cannot wait to return. I booked a nearby horsetrail ride and can't believe how close it was to the resort. Also, I flew into BQN Airport in Aguadilla, rented a car at the airport and the drive to this resort was 10 minutes! ZERO complaints.

We booked a stay at the hotel however they gave our room to someone else. As you see that was very irritating due to arriving in a flight of 3 AM. Since the team saw the issue they did try to help us to get accommodated elsewhere. I recommend for the management team or owners to have a better booking system as that is unacceptable to give a room out too someone else.

The hotel is very isolated and a good 2 hours plus drive from San Juan. It's almost impossible to find a taxi so a car is essential if you want to leave the hotel grounds on an ad hoc basis. It has a great open air restaurant with a limited but overall very well prepared menu and more than adequate for a week's stay, assuming you would dine there each day. This hotel is a real find if you want to completely escape from it all. Amazing beach walks, sunsets and rises. The negative is the unwelcoming attitude of some staff members at reception and at the only bar. It's a real pity as these 3 people jeopardise an otherwise wonderful experience and their rudeness and bad service is enough to influence a decision to not return again. Some serious retraining or changes need to be looked at by management.

Black mold everywhere in the bathroom and clearly being painted over and over to try and hide it. The walls are paper thin, could hear the neighbors conversations day and night. Dated, dirty and definitely not as pictured. Bikes for use are not allowed out of the parking lot, the front desk checked them out, said nothing, we went to the gate and he said no, went back inside to get permission and was met with “of course you can’t take them on the bike path.” What’s the point of offering bikes? The key didn’t work to our unit, asked for a different room and was evening willing to pay more if necessary and was told no. Tub didn’t drain properly so I stood in an inches of water for every shower. Planes taking off overhead day and night. If you want to eat at the restaurant, make sure to make reservations. They won’t seat you without them, went into town to eat instead, would’ve been nice to know at check in. This is not a resort! I also stayed over in the Rincon area at a beautiful resort for the same price, definitely worth it! Check out The Horned Dorset, customer service was amazing, the lady at Villa Montana could learn a thing or too from them!
