Sea Gate Hotel

Wonderful experience with very friendly hosts ( Kelly and Penny). We received very useful taxi & tour advices from the hotel two days prior to our arriving. Those are truly helpful tips that saved us money and efforts in transportation and Vieques tours arrangement - Very thoughtful & useful service from the hotel staff!

It was a fantastic experience. The place is beautifully set with horses on the property, which added a charming, rustic feel. Although we didn't ride them, waking up to the sounds of chickens and other animals in the morning was refreshing and peacefuuul !! The room had both an AC and a fan, but I barely needed them at night as there was a lovely breeze coming in through the windows, making it a comfortable stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, and Penny, our host, was an absolute pleasure to meet. She made our stay even more enjoyable with her hospitality ! It feels like home ! Breakfast was delicious, and Penny helped us with transportation, even providing us with a list of local taxis to contact. And explained to us on the map for sites to visits and see Overall, my stay at Sea Gate Guesthouse was relaxing and memorable, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in Vieques. We absolutely LOVED out stay at the Sea Gate Hotel! We stayed for 3 nights and it was so pleasant! The grounds of this family founded and operated boutique hotel are full of beautiful gardens and a nice little dipping pool and a sun deck. There are roosters near the horses nearby. (roosters are everywhere in PR) We used a white noise app on our phones and were fine. :) Our space was so comfortable, we really liked chatting with the ladies running the place. We rented a golf cart, parking was super easy in front of the hotel, and explored the island before seeing bioluminescence. I literally can't say enough positive about our stay here!!! We'll look to book here again when we come back to the island in the future! Thank you both so much!!! :)

We loved this hotel! Although driving through the tight roads made for some excitement, the hotel itself was beautiful with a breathtaking view! Very clean, great service, and small but comfortable! There are 5 parking spaces, but it seems common for people to not drive themselves anyways. The only questionable thing was the free breakfast as it is essentially outside, so bugs flying around is prevalent.

Nice quiet hotel above Vieques. A bit of a walk, and climb to get there with luggage in tow so get a taxi. Perfect to stay a few days to experiene the island.

Kelly and Penny are great! Kelly texted me the day before and provided taxi and ferry information as well as a map to the hotel. Penny checked us in and gave us a map of the island with directions to restaurants and a market. Our shower head had very little pressure but was promptly fixed the next day. (We checked in late and the office was closed when we realized it) I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if we visit Vieques!

Kelly & Penny were so welcoming, the property is absolutely beautiful with an amazing view! Penny went out of her way to go over the map of Isabel & Esperanza with me so I could do some of my favorite things & gave me the best advice on food & who to use as a taxi! I was overwhelmed by the hospitality. Will definitely be staying there again on my next visit!

This was the sweetest property and Kelly and Penny were so helpful and accommodating, would definitely use a car or taxi to get here from the ferry if you have lots of luggage or young kids but the location is really great for getting around multiple parts of the island . Ooh also the kitchen is great for multi day stay .

Loved the experience. Slightly off the beaten pass where most tourists travel, this was a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the island coupled with great hospitality from the owner. She made us feel like visiting life-long friends.

Penny was super helpful and friendly. We had some last minute travel adjustments and they were more than accommodating. We will definitely be coming back to this little gem!
