Hotel Madrid Alameda Aeropuerto, Affiliated by Meliá

A pleasant surprise! I chose the hotel primarily because of its location to MAD airport and the complimentary shuttle. It was a Mercedes van driven by professionals drivers. Very nice! Though the hotel looks a little tired and need of some updates once I got in the room I was pleasantly surprised to find robes, slippers, nice toiletries and eco friendly extras such as shower caps, toothbrush & paste, shaving kit,complimentary water etc. All of these things were greatly appreciated. I opted to purchase the breakfast buffet and I was extremely pleased with the options.

I chose this hotel because it said it had a free airport shuttle that ran until 1;00am as my flight was not arriving until 12;20am. It said to book your reservation for pickup and drop off ahead of time. I did so at time of making reservation and then reconfirmed again a day before. They sent a schedule of when the shuttle runs. I waited 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time at the airport and the shuttle never came so I had to take a cab the short 1 mile which had a minimum of $20 fee. While checking in I told the gentleman at the desk that the shuttle never came. He said he talked to the driver and the driver was there which was not true. While I was there checking in another woman came in and also stated that she waited through 2 shuttle pickup times and it never came so she therefore had to also take a cab. The gentleman at the desk insinuated that we were lying as the shuttle driver told him he was there. I would not recommend this hotel if you need late night shuttle service

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, the hotel needs some updating. The chairs and walls and furniture need to be replaced or reupholstered. Our air conditioning didn’t work, and it took a lot of complaining and demanding to get moved to a room with working ac. In general the folks who work here are friendly and helpful. The airport shuttle ran on time, even if the driver was a little surly.

It was an "OK" stay, overnight for a return flight to the US. My Hotels.com reservation indicated breakfast included but the front desk refused to honor the clearly written notation on the reservation notice.

place is having construction inside and out. Appears that the restaurant area is being worked on small elevators 2 people and 2 bags, good thing hey have 2 elevators. Didn’t eat there or use the bar area. airport shuttle starts at 0430. Had to use a taxi for a 0400 report time. Not much use to have an airport shuttle if it’s not for the early fits out.

This was a great choice for overnight prior to the flight back to USA. The facility is excellent and spotlessly clean. It is convenient to the Chamartin Train Station and has a free shuttle bus to the airport. The buffet breakfast was a great value to get yourself prepped to fly.

Clean, comfortable beds and room. Conveniently located about 15 minutes from Terminal 4, but expect shuttle from airport (T4) to hotel to be a rough ride and about 30 minutes long because of multiple stops and a vehicle that appears to lack functioning shock absorbers. Hotel offered no breakfast and only expensive vending machines with unattractive options for snacks. Staff were competent and the hotel was clean everywhere we visited. Paid about $125 for three people in one room, which felt like a reasonable price with all things considered. I would stay there again but I would eat before arriving late at night and I’d probably take a taxi from the airport, but shuttle vehicle from hotel to airport was excellent! Max I’d pay for two beds here is $160 if airport proximity was important.

The property was good. However, the taxi the hotel called for us charged us 30 euro for a 5-minute drive, a clear ripoff. It is surprising that this happened.
