Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island, an IHG Hotel

Close to Yas Island with shuttle available, excellent breakfast and spacious room

Close to the airport, Ferrari world and the yas marina circuit. Spacious rooms and very friendly staff.

If you book a suite, as we did, don’t make the mistake of thinking that the sofa will convert into a bed. It doesn’t, and so we had to organise a roller bed - not particularly suitable for our 15 year old son. Also, be aware that the hotel is in the airport flight path. Apart from that everything went well with our stay. The hotel is very convenient for all major attractions on Yas Island.

This was a really good hotel and very close to all the theme parks in Yas Island and Yas Mall. The staff were really great, and couldn't be more helpful. It was very clean and the food was great in the restaurants. Breakfast had lots on offer, but it was pretty much the same day after day, but all pretty good quality. I only found one issue, which was its quite far from the main city/hub. Going into town would cost on average 180 there and back. I guess if you are not looking to explore Abu dhabi, and you want to stay near the theme parks this is a perfect hotel. But for me it turned out to be quite expensive in taxis. This isn't anything to do with the hotel, it more my own fault. Next time I think i might just find a hotel nearer the city. Additionally, I found out when I arrived at the hotel that my stays wouldn't be counted by my IHG membership, because I booked through Expedia and not directly through the hotel. I didn't know this and was a little disappointed. I am sure its in the fine print somewhere, but I didn't see it.

We stayed for 5 nights on HB basis. This is a great hotel. High standard. The management does lots of things correctly. Like what? 1. We checked in late on the first day when dinner was already over. So they sent us dinner to the room from a room service dinner menu instead. 2. Dinner at the restaurant is served daily until 23:00 hours. This is very convenient for tourists who go out and come back late. I have never been to a hotel who offers dinner so late. 3. Dinner includes drinks and juices which is nice. We think the dinner spread at the Jing Asia (main)  restaurant could be improved as we didn't always find something to our taste. All the staff are service oriented.  They understand English and serve you with a smile. Restaurant (Jing Asia) manager Mr. Lalith was serving and professional. Although somewhat repetitive the breakfast buffet spread is nice and good. We always found what to eat. I liked to start with fresh cut fruit (Pineapple, melon, watermelon). Western coffee (latte, Americano,...) is available and served on request. 2 guys who served us well: Arka, Vincent from the bar, and the slim and tall chef from dinner. Thanks!! The room itself was beautiful. Air-conditioning worked strongly. Wifi worked good. Water pressure in bathroom was strong. Free underground covered parking is available for guests. Across the street from the hotel is a bus stop for the free shuttle bus Yas Express Y1 which takes you around Yas Island including Yas Mall

This was our first time staying at the Crowne Plaza having stayed at the Viceroy / W hotel on previous trips. We arrived at 7am (not expecting to check in), but were immediately told it would cost us to check in early. We left our luggage and went for an explore around the island and to grab some food. Arriving back at 4pm to check in we were then sent to a double room when we had asked for a twin room as there were three of us. We were then told there were no rooms ready, so asked if they had a twin room with a balcony ready, which they did not. Anyway to cut a long story short the room was not ready until around 6pm. The reception staff didn't seem to be on the ball and we did have to go back a number of times. When we were finally in the room we were impressed and the view over the pool was lovely. The breakfast staff / pool staff seemed very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again and maybe it was just a busy time for the hotel, but I tried to contact the hotel before our stay to make sure everything was ok with the booking / book a car from the airport, but had heard nothing back. I would definitely pick up the phone to the hotel next time.

We stayed 6 nights at the Crowne Plaza. The location is excellent. There are a lot of activities and restaurants nearby. They have a shuttle to the beach or you can walk. We rented bikes and road around on the bike paths of Yas Island. They have free wifi in the hotel, which is a major plus as other hotels in the area charge for wifi in the rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

The staff made us feel at home. We loved the restaurants, the walking trails, the shuttles to attractions. This hotel is in a quieter area so it is very pleasant. It is very close to the airport. The rooms were beautiful with great views. We loved it!

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza my last night in Abu Dhabi because of its close proximity to the airport. The staff was attentive, the room service good, and the room and bed very nice. I'd stay again.
