Overview

The ibis Styles Bournemouth receives mixed reviews. Positive comments focus on the hotel's cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and convenient location—a short walk from the beach. Guests also appreciate the friendly staff. However, some drawbacks noted include the cost of parking (£10 per day), relatively expensive breakfast (£15), and some concerns regarding room maintenance, such as a non-functional lift and shower issues reported in some instances. The hotel's pool is a plus point for some, although the water quality was criticised in one review. Overall, the hotel appears to offer comfortable accommodation near the beach, but potential guests should be prepared for additional charges and the possibility of some maintenance issues.

Hotel is nice enough and facilities and condition are good. The only issue was limited food and drink available in hotel and car parking whilst in the hotel grounds was chargeable.

Nice and clean hotel. Comfortable room. Lift didn’t work so had to carry luggage up 3 flights. Pool a nice bonus. Hot Breakfast was not available until 0720 despite being told breakfast started at 0700 and we had a ferry to catch. Shower didn’t work as not enough pressure.

Great hotel with very clean room, comfy bed, looks newly decorated and very convenient location. Was unaware that the hotel charged parking fee of £10 per day which I thought was expensive. I also thought breakfast was expensice ar £15.

Following a friendly welcome and swift check-in, we were very impressed with the spacious, newly refurbished chalet situated to the rear of the hotel near to the pool with own parking. Lovely breakfast and relaxing stay thnx

2nd visit to hotel. Building is fairly old but has been maintained well. There was a parking charge but as only £2 no real issue with this as the location is great, just a few minute walk to the zig zag to take you down to the beach and a further 20 min walk to pier. Also close to restaurants to walk to in evening. Staff were fantastic particularly reception staff.

The noise level from the other guests was just far too loud at midnight as well as being kept awake by the lashing rain, we were then subject to constant load shouting and 'party' sounds from another room till 1am. This was intersped with the unfortunate sound of the bathroom in the room next door being used every 15 minutes. I won't be staying here again, in over 10 years of travelling around the country for business this is second to the only other time I have had to complain to the night porter, funnily enough another Best Western!!

It is a small hotel and was not busy during my stay. Staff were helpful and happy to communicate. I expected more from the price I paid for (£144 per night for 2 nights). I also paid £10 per night for parking. Paid extra for Breakfast. We were a couple with 2 kids. In my opinion the value for money is not justified for the room I got. I paid £144/night and got a room on the lower ground where the windows are directly under the exhaust of parked vehicles. In this room you will hear everybody walking on the ground level or people in the parking. The rooms 16 or 18 should not be considered hotel rooms in a hotel like Ibis unless they make it clear before reservation that the rooms are on lower ground. The bathroom looks like it has been refurbished and was good. The entrance door has a big gap from the floor which keeps the lights and noise entering the room from the corridor. The hotel has also a heated swimming outside the main building with free towels to borrow. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool however the pool is old and needs to be cleaned. The water is not clear and doesn’t smell Chlore which worried me. The hotel is close to the beach about 10 min walk but no groceries or shops close to the hotel. I recommend you to take a beachfront hotel or close to the shops in the city centre.

The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Its a shame they charge for car parking. The bedrooms are tired and need updating with some new furniture and a decent shower. the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good . Overall I would give this hotel a 7 out of 10
