Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands Airport

A fairly ordinary airport hotel. Nothing particular wrong with it, and the staff were nice. But it did feel a bit tired in places and the carpark was full but cars could still drive in, meaning they were then parking on pavements and grass verges inside the carpark.

The parking situation is out of control. Yesterday was my third stay at this hotel, and each time is the same - vast car park with no free spaces. I spoke with the receptionist about it, and the impression I got was that they rent their guest spaces to pilots, cabin crew etc. They charge £6 per night for guests to park, which is pretty bad anyway, but to leave guests with nowhere to park is not acceptable. I met other disgruntled guests also scratching their heads in the car park, so I’m not alone in this view. Other than the parking the hotel is quite nice. Could do with some maintenance (rm 411) fridge didn’t work, the shower leaked and the bathroom was a bit grubby, but other than that the room was very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet too, given the airport proximity.

Stayed here for two nights when attending an event at Donnington Race circuit, having stayed here once before for the same reason. Shuttle from the airport was quick and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant. My main issue was the cost, and more importantly the quality of the food on offer. We ate in the restaurant with friends on our first night which was expensive in terms of both value and quality. Breakfast, as others have mentioned was luke warm and disappointing, despite the selection on offer. Ate in the bar on our second night and paid £20 for a very average, supermarket quality pizza and £5 for what tasted like cheap oven chips. Not bad enough to complain about, otherwise I would have, but certainly didn’t live up to our expectations by a long way, Won’t be staying here again.

Hotel is in a great location, to either stay there for a couple of nights to relax or for a night stay before travelling /flying. Great facilities, great staff, very clean and rooms are nice and spacious.

Welcoming and comfortable. Nice meal and the pool was a nice place to chill after a flight cancellation.

Stayed again for the night before a flight. Again excellent service, food, drink and hospitality.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Airport shuttle worked well and check in was quick, easy and smooth. I enjoyed the pool and steam room as well as the excellent WiFi facility before a beer in the bar before dinner. Only issue was that I didn’t realise I had to book the shuttle to return to the airport and I had to walk

Nice hotel, 1 mile from airport. Try to chicken wings in the restaurant. They were incredibly tender:-)

Thought I’d try radisson for a change - 2 night stay - no tv throughout (not massive issue) but staff just said yes we know hopefully will be fixed but was not. Paid car parking but difficult to get space and final night had to park in the drop off area - not ideal

Fab breakfast and comfy bed! Was great to get up and have a quick swim and steam room session before my flight. Definitely a good place to stay and relax if you're staying before a flight. Oh and the minibar in room included! Needed for pre airport nerves! (Id double check this with reception so there's no additional costs) Although I didn't have a transfer to the terminal included in my stay the staff worked around this and still got me to the terminal on time free of charge. (Wouldn't assume this to be the case all of the time) Greatly appreciated!
