Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix East - Gilbert, an IHG Hotel

Reasonable prices, very clean rooms. Convenient to interstate/major highways/Fountain Hills, etc. Friendly staff, but noted at times that some employee(s) took frequent smoking/vaping breaks outside the front entrance as phones rang unmonitored at the desk which, in my opinion, speaks to both the work ethic and professional image of some staff members. Breakfast is complimentory, solidly average and sufficient, but doesn't change much from day-to-day, which is a bit disappointing for those having longer stays. Pool/spa area is above average for a 3 star property, but because of its location, the sun is blocked by parts of the property depending on the time of day. This can create significant temperature variations requiring frequent repositioning of chairs - especially in the winter months to keep warm. Nonetheless, this was a surprisingly nice place to hang out, complete with grills for barbecuing and a propane powered fire pit to gather at in the evenings. Piped in music was relaxing. Overall, would recommend as a solid value choice for business travel, but less so for those seeking the amenities desirable for a longer stay.

You can tell there is care in the presentation and a free breakfast is such a treat for the weary traveler.

So much better than I expected. Great breakfasts every morning at reasonable times, fabulous variety. The front desk was extremely helpful. With only 3 floors, travel up and down was quite comfortable.Rooms are very clean, quiet, really heavy, thick doors.This was unexpectedly a great experience.

Very very nice place! Clean, comfortable bed, nice breakfast, 10 minutes from Gateway, Airport. Lite traffic for morning flight.

The Hotel was very clean. The only thing that bothered us was the truck outside in the back part of parking lot with all its wheels removed and held up by rocks. Doesn't look like its a very safe place to park. We had no trouble otherwise.
