WE got a really nice room as we ask for - far away from elevator so in beginning seem everything fine as we want to few hours sleep (had a taxi rq 4:30am)Next to our room seem lots of YOUNG pax want something else with laud voices until 1am when we had to call reception to do something.
I wonder why give room(s) fare away from elevator to young people (it should only be for old pax there as we ask want a quiet night and young pax want party etc can have the next to elevator.

Nicely positioned, great view of out over the jetty. Worried when i saw the plane coming into land but never heard a thing.
Plenty of eateries around so you're spoilt for choice, even the attached pub offered up a great feed.
Right at the start of the Tram line so travel was not expensive.

Couldn't fault this hotel.
It's location by the beach, next to the tram with easy access to the airport by bus or taxi was great.
This hotel is what my wife refers to as an old grand style. With character and charm but with modern features such as new lifts.
We stayed for 5 nights and had breakfast included. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options.
We ate in the bar a couple of times and the food was fine. There are plenty of restaurants though within a few minutes walk.
We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area in the future.

Nice place to stay in beautiful Glenelg. But didn't like the fact that you have to pay for parking.

That stay was great.
The wi-fi provided by the hotel was of very poor quality. I ended up using my phone data as it was quite imposdible to load even a basic website via wi-fi. We traveled in s large group and many others had the same experience.
We traveled from Melbourne and on the way stopped of at a little town. The wi-fi in that motel was of better quality.

We had a fabulous stay at the Stamford..
The staff were friendly and room was presented clean and fresh. The view from our window was beautiful! If I had one issue its the cost of parking considering you already pay a good amount to stay.

We chose a suite at this place for something special for our 40th wedding anniversary... big mistake. The Grand turned out to be counterfeit.
They advertise themselves as "Unparalleled Luxury". That's just not so. The service on arrival is wonderful, but past the ground floor things are in need of a bit of repair & attention. The bed was very comfortable. We were prepared to literally look past the imperfections (bird poop on the window) and enjoy the amazing views, but then the night club started up...
Seems to me to be counter intuitive to have a night club under a venue set up for people to sleep. I Googled it to find out what was happening!? It was a planned event "Beach Party". It was supposed to end at 1am, but it went on till 1:35am. It was hot, the windows were open from the Grand Bar, the doof doof's travelled up multiple floors.
After complaining at the front desk the next morning, We realised they don't care. He even tried to blame the venue across the square, but then he says "The Grand Bar is only noisy on the weekends", and then he says "Tomorrow night (Monday night) it's Karaoke". THEY know about the noise, but still they take bookings and your money.
Instead of a little sewing kit, earplugs would have been more useful.
The money we spent on the Grand and Glenelg experience would have been better spent on something more authentic, like a nice B&B, where the hosts actually care about your experience and you're not just production line money.

Good, though parking may need some changes. There are so many SUVs and utes there, bays are becoming tight

Outrageous this hotel demanded $209 deposit and drawn immediately out of my account. Also wanted $25 per night for parking, only hotel not providing free parking. Hotel foyer looked tired and need of refurbishment. Swimming pool under renovation.

They had no movie packages or any movies on demand, no newspaper could be ordered, there was no valet car parking, very little in in room bar. No menus everything was QR codes and the phone didn't work very well. I had a beach front room but couldn't open the windows. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was rather good.
