Overview

The Residence & Conference Centre - Ottawa Downtown offers a budget-friendly option for travelers to Ottawa, with some guests appreciating its quiet location and spacious suites. Positive comments mention the convenient bus service and the large workspaces within the rooms. However, reviews also highlight that the property is more akin to student accommodation than a hotel, noting small towels, a lack of amenities (guests should bring their own toiletries and coffee), and an extra charge for parking in a nearby university lot.

This place was not advertised to us as a college DORM that is being sold as a hotel room. My family and I were flabbergasted when we walked in to an outdated dorm that was dusty and reeked of urine. Do not be fooled as parking is not garunteed as you pay for parking across the hotel in a city lot that fills up fast. While it was cheap, way nicer hotels are only 30$ more.Take your money elsewhere.

This place was super quiet and in a very nice area. Checking in was quick and easy. We stayed in an east-facing room. Outside, the large trees give a pleasant view. The room was so quiet that I slept like a baby. I have stayed at 4-star hotels in Toronto and other cities. In those hotels, the most annoying things are the HVAC and elevator noises. At this place, even the airconditioner was quiet. And I rose with the morning sun. The room has a large fridge and a large microwave as well as a sink. It also has large work spaces. The place is sufficiently clean. The beds are double. My daughters shared one. So, one is large enough for 2 average people. The parking is at the University parking lot. It costs $14 for 24 hours. As I mentioned it, the place is also austere. Bring your own shampoo, coffee maker, and coffee. Also bring your own towels because the towels are very small. The shower is also small. The TVs have no signals. So, if you come with kids, bring their video games with you. What I loved about the place most is its tranquility and simplicity. Ask for tooms 401 to 405 if available when you come. Those are the east-facing rooms. You can see the sun rising.

Basic, but comfortable. $15 a day for parking on top of room rate seems excessive.

We were surprised to find out that parking was not included and cost $15 a day. The location was excellent and bus service was right out front. The suite was spacious and included housekeeping services. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Ottawa

Great Value< do not expect Hotel service, it is a University residence, it is clean comfortable and if you are a traveler like me, who just needs a clean bathroom clean room and a comfortable bed, then this is it.

This student residence / hotel is just ok. The place is hard to find in the dark with all the construction because the road looks like a driveway due to the turn around at St Paul’s University. The place is spartan and the towels are horrible, very small and hard. They must not use fabric softener. Sheets and blankets have seen better days. Housekeeping showed up once during my 3 day stay. I had to ask to borrow a kettle to make coffee. The price was not low enough to make up for the lack of amenities given the $15.00 per night parking in addition to the cost of the room. I will not stay here again.
