Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Disappointed that shuttle service did not run on Sundays.

Its not a local resort. Its a holiday inn. I was flabbergasted when I showed up at the false advertising. Its nice for a holiday inn, but its still a holiday inn and I hate cheap chain hotels like that. The restaurant was great but the property location is just terrible. Taxis hate going on this part of the island because of all the potholes but luckily they have a free shuttle that takes you to the nice part of the island. The beach at this hotel is also disgusting. Just stop advertising this an anything but the holiday inn so people know what to expect.

Stayed at Grand Caymanian for a week with family. The property does not have great signage because it is attached or part of a holiday inn; so all you see are holiday inn signs. The restaurant/ bar on site is very good ! We loved Kim and Colin. Rooms are spacious and clean. Convenient parking on site if you rent a car (which we did). The hotel does offer free shuttle for nearby locations (like the supermarket or 7 mile beach) which must be booked at least an hour or more in advance. The grounds are well maintained and very pretty. The pool towels are so small though. They really should invest in better sized towels. The room
Had a nice balcony overlooking the property. There is a beautiful dock to walk out on and take great pictures and even swim off of. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful resort the only downside is that the beach is not swimmable, so you can hang out in the sun, tan and relax but not swim.
Rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is super friendly and they go above and beyond to make you feel super comfortable. Keep in mind there is only 1 restaurant on site which is pricey but they do offer a free shuttle bus from 10am to 5pm Monday thru Saturday to take you to Georgetown where are more options to eat.
Overall great experience

For those that are not so interested in the busy resorts on 7-mile beach, this is a great choice. The pool and restaurant/bar are situated in the center of the resort and look out to the bay - very nice. Our suite was clean and everything was in working order. The free shuttle was very helpful getting us to 7-mile beaches, downtown Georgetown for shopping and to areas to catch the island bus system.

The resort was beautiful. However, there was not anything really around the property. They have a shuttle, but it only runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hours should definitely have been longer. Taking a taxi to get to restaurants, the beach, etc. is pricey if you need to before or after shuttle hours.

Property was too far away from anything. Taxi required for any trip after 5:00 PM which is a minimum of 20 USD one way. Shuttle is too small and was often full, which meant more taxi trips. Shuttle needs to be larger to ensure that all guests can be accommodated, and need to run up to 10:00 PM.

This resort is far from Grand. Other than Jay the bartender/server, there were very few positives. The resort is still called the Holiday Inn and NOBODY will know what you are talking about if you mention Grand Caymanian. The property is really far from anything else. You better have a car or have a lot of money for taxis($20USD to the grocery store). The property does not have any food or drinks available for purchase other than the bar. No water bottles are suppied or available for sale. There are no vending machines. Don't look for a shower cap, cotton swabs or other important toiletries. This is a no frills place to stay.
Beware that check in time is 4pm, but check out time is 11am. I have never heard of a 4pm check-in time in all my travels.
Although the picture shows a beach looking area, it is nothing more than rocks.
The smell on the third floor smelled like cat urine.

I was pleasantly surprised as I only expected a mid level hotel. Front desk personnel were kind attentive and accommodating. The pool area was clean and comfortable with enough seating/ lounges. I ate poolside and at the bar in the Blue Iguana. Both meals hot and served quickly. The price for food and drink are in line with the Cayman islands. Higher than US but not the worst I've seen. The grounds and beach area are clean and well maintained. My room was upgraded from a queen to a king bed. I didn't ask but they did that which was nice. The lobby is small but clean. I didn't see a gift shop for incidentals but maybe I missed that. I heard they had a shuttle service but I did not use.

There is no doubt that the resort is beautiful and clean. A long road separates it from main stores and restaurants, and it is only accessible by car. There is a shuttle but you need to add your name to the list and the ladt shuttle leaves downtown at 5:30. The only negative was that I did not have hangers for my clothes in my room and the beach was not usable due to an overgrowth of red seaweed. The on site restaurant makes delicious food which smelled. They accept both American dollars and Cayman currency.
