Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Beds were great. Area is a little far out of town. Beach is pretty but not real swimmable. Food and drinks were great. The morning breakfast was a real bonus since it was included in price. Wish the dinner menu was a little larger. It was great having the shuttle to take us to town etc. Left on the day before hurricane Beryl hit.

The front desk staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was cleaned every day during our stay. The rooms look just like the pictures online. They are bit dated but well-kept. There's also a nice restaurant/sports bar onsite. The food was pretty good and the bartenders were nice. There's no beach access. I repeat..no beach access. However, they do have a nice pier where you can go out and relax and listen to the ocean. The pool area was nice. This hotel isn't walking distance to 7 mile beach. They do have a shuttle Mon-Sat. 8-5. Otherwise, you would need to take the taxi for about $20-25 usd. If you're a golfer, the golf course is very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I just wish it had beach access and was closer to 7 mile beach.

Great experience, they were incredibly accommodating! They have a shuttle that'll take you several places, a transportation company on speed dial, and a boat captain on site! I highly recommend the splash tours, they'll take you snorkeling and playing with stingrays!

It is remote. This is good and bad. No shuttle from airport is an issue. To avoid this taxi fees and being stuck in this remote area, it is very highly recommended that you rent a car from the airport for some or all of the trip. They do have a shuttle, but if you are staying for four or more days you will want to have a car to visit Rum Point and Caves.

Well Renoir at the front desk was rude. I was called and told I needed to vacate my room but had already extended my stay. No one explained the shuttle properly and no one was at fault. Renoir made rude comments about my hair. Anytime I tried to ask a question about pricing, breakfast or the shuttle I was basically shut down and redirected.
I was double billed for the $100 deposit. Still waiting on it to be given back. They were not very helpful. We met other people at the hotel they had problems with the front desk staff as well. Basically everyone had the same complaints. The communication about the shuttle pick up points and times was poor. The front desk staffers were either rude or clueless.

The Holiday Inn Resort is located on an east facing beach a few miles north of the airport and about 1 mile east of Governor's Beach, but with the turns in the access road it is probably 1.75 miles. It is co-located with the Grand Caymanian, and there is a restaurant and bar on site. In addition, the lobby has a small shop where you can buy soft drinks, snacks, candy, t-shirts, snacks, and beach towels. You can also rent coolers and other beach gear.
The on-site restaurant has seating indoors and on an outdoor patio. They have musicians performing during the evening hours in the outdoor area. There is a moderate assortment of choices on the menu, and some entrees seem pricey, including burgers. We wound up ordering delivery from Domino's for two of the nights.
There are scheduled shuttle runs to various places, which we used for visiting Public Beach, Georgetown, and Governor's Beach. It will also take you to shopping and grocery stores.
The resort has a beach, which guests use for sitting near the water, but no one went in the bay since the entrance was rocky and you would need water shoes, but you can see the bay from the pool. You can also sit facing the bay in the restaurant.
If you have a vehicle with you, then you have a lot of flexibility. If you don't, then take advantage of the shuttle service. Also bring in some snacks and cans of soda from the outside to save over the lobby price.

Room view of construction company site. Non heated Pool , no hot tub and no access to Ocean where the warm water was. Very remote location can't walk to anything. There
was a shuttle service to shopping but not worth a couple hours time to get small items. Excellent staff

I mostly liked the staff friendliness and eager to help or answer questions. Taveta the shuttle driver is a very kind and helpful gentleman. The other driver is also very helpful. Overall I have no complaints or issues re: this property. I liked the quietness and that it is very relaxing.
