Helpful staff, big rooms, parking on site. Stayed for a few nights in a family room and it was huge. Nice little balcony to sit out on. Building is a bit dated but location is perfect.

We stayed two nights and I felt that the hotel had character but needed a redecoration. The staff are friendly and helpful but the room we were given was below the standard I expected for the money I paid. The furniture was old and chipped/ scratched and the wardrobe was missing a handle. The room which had no air conditioning was very warm and the supplied fan helped us get to sleep. The window only partially opened due to a security strap and we had a lovely view of a Tesco Direct store. The bed was comfortable and the television worked. Had to have the kettle replaced due to the smell it produced when boiling. The bedroom itself was clean but had a few marks on the walls. The bathroom had hairs on the floor around the sink which we noticed when we arrived. Also the grout around the bath had mould in numerous places. The shower was reasonably hot but took a while to adjust the individual taps to produce the right temperature. We were informed that the restaurant and bar were closed but we could use the Irish Bar next door or the Mexican restaurant on the other side of the hotel. The bar was a poor substitute for a relaxed hotel lounge and the restaurant appeared closed. Again a poor substitute for a normal hotel restaurant. The parking was reasonably charged. Overall, I was disappointed with the hotel and would think twice about staying again if I was visiting Newquay in the future.

We received exceptional service. The staff were very.friendly and accomodating. I requested a disabled parking bay for my dad and it was set up waiting when we arrived. They also provided him with an amazing ground floor bedroom. They couldn't do enough it was an amazing stay. Thank you Victoria we will certainly come back again. I can't comment on the breakfast though as we didn't have it unfortunately, but maybe next time. Karen from Somerset

A dated property but extremely good value for money out of season with car parking charges only £7 a night. Rooms were fairly spacious with plenty of storage space and tea/coffee facilities and bathroom toiletries and a good tv . Only complaint would be that the rooms would probably be unbearably hot in summer months but lovely and warm in winter.

Really enjoyed our stay, hotel takes you back almost to the late 1800’s. Some say a bit spooky but I liked it. Brilliant location! We managed to secure one of the hotels parking slots for our stay at just £7pd and left the car there for the weekend. Everything is walking distance. I would stay again.

Checking in- Quick but things missed ie I am disabled so and I needed a disabled parking place I had called 4 days before and was told they would sort it when we arrived I was told the parking outside is for disabled guests I explained I have a blue badge and I noted this on my booking. This had been missed. Also we were given a room on second floor. With no lift in service. No notifications of no lift was given before we got there. We were told that we were sent an email to tell us that the lift was under maintenance. We never got anything from them. Once in our room for the duration we had no hot water so we had cold showers. We were staying 2 nights. When asked about the water we were told an emergency plumber was on the job. No one in hotel had hot water everyone was complaining. One the last day I asked about their complaints process I was asked to leave my details and the manager would contact me but I am waiting their call. Breakfast was good.

The Hotel was great, my Fiancè travelled over from Canada so i booked a 3 night stay as he is into English history and the hotel victoria screams just that, the stay amazing, the lobby is beautiful, the room was clean and tidy, very old fashioned which added to the stay (although there was no refrigerator so had to get a bag ov ice to put things in the sink overnight to keep cold), the breakfast was also lovely and warm. Our stay was ruined by the RUDE staff on reception, the elderley man who i can only describe looked like a caretaker was especially rude, My partner was looking around the Lobby one morning and was obnoxiously asked "What are YOU looking for?, he was only lookimg at the history in the place and pictures on the walls. On the day ov check out we had packed up, filled the car and decided to take the dog for a walk before checking out, when we arrived back and were having a little walk around the front gardens we were greated by the same RUDE receptionist/caretaker who asked for our room keys, (It was 10:05am), we gave him the keys as we were put on the spot, I said check out isn't until 11am and his reply was that key cards had gone missing in the past and it was as if he didnt trust us, it was disgusting, his attitude was uncalled for and it has put us off staying there again which is a massive shame as it's a Beautiful place, his rudeness needs addressing, I just hope the Lovely maid got the £20 tip we left in the room for her before he got up there before 11

Stayed one night after Boardmasters festival, so very welcome to get a decent bed and a shower, twin room with a friend. Very friendly staff at check in, quiet room, good location for town and beach, walking distance to train station (which is how we travelled) . OK for the money, and would stay there again
