Receptionist was rude and made me very uncomfortable. Smelled like animal urine. Parking lot was very sketchy and the bar in the hotel parking lot did not help. Did not give us enough keys or towels to accommodate the number of guests we told them we were coming with. And what continental breakfast?! They didn’t even have coffee or water in the lobby, which was concerning as the sink said to not drink the water for safety. Google also says it is permanently closed. Yikes! Do not stay here if possible.

I have already left a review but because I had to rebook there is another opportunity. This hotel needs new management and a property reinvestment loan. Once a decent place for a family stay or a romantic rendezvous, Bellis Inn has become a haven for resident and off/on homeless people and those on disability insurance income. There are almost no cars in the parking lot at night.
The manager read my earlier post and had the audacity to house phone me @ 8:12 am on checkout morning, waking me up from a nap, to complain about the review. He wouldn't let it go and continued to harass me for a positive review until I disconnected the call. Do not stay here unless you have no other choice. But be careful, places like the Windmill Inn and Bayside Motel are horribly maintained and also in need of investment. These places are gold mines for the right community minded managers. Bellis Inn has a "little man" as Buddhist, Confucianist and Taoist philosophy describes the manager. The great man will serve the customers, not his ego or profit margin. Bellis Inn needs a Great Person.

Bellis inn is an economy hotel in Bellingham. Hotel was clean, room was also clean, comfortable for four people with air conditioning and included breakfast! It’s just 200 meters from the freeway.
Only complaint I have is about parking. The parking spaces are drawn such that other guests cars can block your car and there’s no way to drive out without asking the front desk to call the guest to take their cars out.

Unsafe area with sketchy people hanging around outside, staff were alright but the rooms stunk so bad, the bedding was stained and dirty. The chairs were stained and filthy. Room was disgusting and pillows had brown stains all over them. The light randomly turned itself on in the middle of the night too. Can hear people in the rooms beside you as the walls are paper thin. Went across the parking lot to the bar and the waitress told us this place is infested with bed bugs and gave us plastic bags to put our stuff in. Will never stay here again and will never recommend this place to anyone. Beware! Oh and people live in this hotel with their pets and it’s a very strange dynamic. Very gross.

Our expectations were not high after reading the reviews so I'm not mad or even disappointed. The room was clean-ish and mildly acceptable if you don't count the random pistachio nut and mexican coin on the floor, dingy refrigerator, non working outlet near window limiting our lighting because the lamp in the corner couldn't be plugged in and broken tv screen (room #224)
We had our dog and I had asked of we could have a room close to an exit which they did, they failed to mention that said exit is for emergencies only (alarm will sound) so it was pointless. We were also in an area where they put us and at least 2 other traveler's wirh dogs because of course all dogs always get along with all other dogs right? So other dogs barking at all hours of the night is totally fine.
Breakfast was sad and despite all the notices about check out being at 11 they thought calling us at 10 to remind us of check out at 11 would be helpful - it was not unless helpful = annoying.

Clean and comfortable. Lots of parking. Friendly staff with quick and easy checkin. Facilities were dated but everything was clean and the rates were cheap. Really nice having a restaurant/bar/casino in the same parking lot.

I arrived and not friendliness at all. I got there and find out that I wasn’t allowed to have any visitors ,and it wasn’t a parking lot to park , he finally worked out a pass but not for over night, and he said he didn’t know any other places to park . I went to my room and find out that half of my room wasn’t even made, I’m very serious. The bed wasn’t done and was still the key of the room from the guest before. I got on the phone and finally went and tell the guy on the desk about it and he told me because I didn’t come out of the room right away that I wasn’t allowed to get a different room so I told him to refund me the next night as I was staying for two nights and he told me that my check -in wasn’t refundable. I was very upset so I left the morning after the first night and didn’t even bother staying the second night. Very bad experience. Won’t even stay again. I also talked to the manager before I was leaving and he didn’t even offer me an apologize or a discount or something. He told me the same thing that I wasn’t allowed to get a one night refund. He seem to not believe me about the room not being done . I wish I had took a video as I walked in. I’m sure they knew after I left because the keys from the other people were still there and wasn’t mine .

So it wasn’t terrible, the room was clean and the beds were comfy. I think this place primarily operates as a place to provide temporary housing and employment to disadvantaged people and providing rooms to paying travelers is just a side gig. Some tips if you decide to book here: Request an odd numbered room so you are on the side of the hotel that doesn’t share parking with the casino, get a room on the second or third floor because the first floor doors are open all night, bring ear plugs because the walls seem thin, and bring some cleaning wipes to clean off your table in the breakfast room (sticky everywhere—lol it had been invaded by an army of toddlers).

Fraud alert! This is not an ordinary hotel; rather it is a homeless shelter that masquerades as a hotel to top up their revenue.
We were first given a room that had the worst smell I've smelled in years. It was as though someone vomited out corn chips, dumped a pint of blood on top, and then left it to rot for weeks in the summer sun. The front desk, friendly but indifferent to the conditions, switched us rooms, which seems to be a routine occurrence.
As we were moving our baggage to the next room, we realized that the transients frequenting the parking lot were actually other guests. We noticed odd behaviour that made our children uncomfortable. We booked a different hotel in town for the night and go out ASAP. The other residence seemed to have seen this before.
We were out the cost of the Bellis Inn. Save yourself some money and book somewhere else to start with!
Finally, be careful where you book. Travelocity may be putting your and your family's safety at risk by sending you to a property that is actually a shelter for people with drug addictions. I am in favour of providing support for such people in need, but this is no place for families!

Decent hotel for the room rate. 1 night for business travel, was fine.
