Overview

The Comfort Inn Bellingham is a hotel undergoing renovations, which has resulted in mixed guest experiences. While some praise its convenient location near shopping and restaurants, and its quiet rooms, many others describe significant cleanliness issues, including dirty carpets, mold, and overflowing bins. Safety concerns have also been raised, with reports of loitering and incidents in the parking lot. Although some guests found the beds comfortable and the staff friendly, the overall impression is one of a property in need of considerable improvement. The hotel's breakfast is noted as decent, but not exceptional.

Hotel smelled like mildew in hallways leading to rooms. The room had visible mold on baseboards next to the bed. Visible water damage on bathroom wall and baseboards near toilet. Numerous individuals wandering and loitering in parking lot on bicycles and shopping carts

The staff wasn’t very informed about transportation to the airport. The toilet in our room ran all night. There was no phone in the room if we wanted to speak to anyone at the front desk, we had to go downstairs. The best part was the hotel consultant was Nice enough to offer to give us a ride to the airport in the morning.!!!

The hotel was ok. Not like the pictures shown, but decent. The staff was friendly. It appeared to have had some renovation as there was building materials out our window along with a hurse which was interesting. The indoor pool was closed, but we had no plans to use it anyway. I had called in advance to see if the room had a hair dryer & iron. When we arrived there was a hair dryer in the restroom but no iron or ironing board. We asked at the front desk & they said "they'd see what they could find" but we never got an iron & wore wrinkled clothing. Had I known, I would have packed my travel iron. The food was ok, again didn't look like the photos. My husband said the eggs were cold one day & semi warm the next two mornings. Waffles were ok, bacon paper thin & the days they had sausages one day they were cool the other a little warm but not fully cooked. They had coffee, OJ, muffins, toast, yogurt, dry cereal, packages of Oatmeal.... we left full so all in all ok. I understand not changing the bedding but we had no cleaning of the room at all. We arrived Mon & left on Thurs. Both trash cans were over flowing & had we stayed a day longer, the toilet paper would have been gone. We had several stores across the street & several eating/shopping within a short car ride so the location was good. Room was quiet. My husband said he wouldn't stay there again, me knowing what I know now, I'd be ok with it due to the other things close by BUT would definitely be more prepared!!

Close to lots of shopping and not far from the airport. For being as busy as it is around this property, the room was very quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Had a king sized bed that was on the firm side, which I much prefer to soft. Overall it was a good stay.

A disappointing, sketchy experience - I should have read recent reviews as I am not sure how this place is getting 86% 4.5 star ratings. To be fair, it lists as a 2 star motel - perhaps that's a goal. The cleanliness is suspect, the backdoor parking lot door does not lock, so the hotel is accessible to anyone, key or not, 24/7. My room key repeatedly lost its magnetization, so I was locked out of my room 3x in one night. (Stayed 1 night) There was a very loud domestic dispute happening on the second floor, easily heard on the 1st floor. The cops were called/ at least I saw them patrolling the property not long after. The property is undergoing renovation. They advertise adjoining rooms which I requested, however I was told "it's too hard to reserve those" from front desk person. I believe it must be subsidized state housing as it appears to be occupied by "residents" who linger in outdoor and lobby area. Parked our car in front to at least be in an area with more lighting (dark and vacant lot parking surrounded by trees in back next to a permanently open hotel access door) only to park among a number of people seemingly living out of their vehicles and communally "hanging out". It does accept pets, and as i had to bring our dog at the last minute, she was beyind thrilled at the copious smells all over the place. Thankfully, I didn't have a black light with me. So...need to bring your dog? they'll love the smells. Cleanliness? 2, Safety 1. Go elsewhere

The staff was exceptional! Very polite, accommodating, and friendly. We were traveling back from Canada with a load in our truck and the staff watched our vehicle throughout the night. Breakfast was delicious and we were on our way!!

Unfortunately this hotel is quite run down. Dirty carpets, heating/cooling unit was stinky and made crazy noises. Homeless people throughout the parking lot (and surrounding areas). The breakfast was adequate. And the walls are thin!
