Red Lion Hotel Portland Airport

Dated, tired rooms. Very no frills. Bathroom looked like something you see at a rest stop. Toilet was backed up and A/C howled all night interrupting my sleep. When I told them this at checkout they shrugged and offered no room discount or even offer to waive the $10 parking fee. Not coming back

Great location from airport...5 minute drive...we only had 7 hrs total from checking into the hotel until the flight we were taking

This was a convenience stay, close to the airport, where we could stay on arrival before we headed out on a trip. There was no breakfast but there was coffee in the lobby.

The parking situation was a bit complicated. It wasn't immediately clear how or where to enter the parking lot for the Red Lion. After I drove past the entrance for the paid parking, I finally figured out how to get inside the lot. Then, I had to take a ticket, and have it validated inside the hotel every time I entered and exited the parking lot (going to dinner at night and getting coffee in the morning).

Nice property, cheaper than other choices around the airport. Clearly an older property, but clean and renovated. Free shuttle to airport. $10 parking if you have a car. This is not disclosed until AFTER you book.

This is a fine place to stay close to Portland’s International Airport. The shuttle arrived on time and got us to the airport as we had hoped in the morning. The room was basic, but had everything we needed. All things were clean and in good repair.

My main complaint is that they have no elevator at this hotel! We were given a 2nd floor room and had to climb a full flight of stairs with our luggage! We're in our 60s and are fortunately fit, but I don't think I've ever been in a multistory hotel that didn't provide that basic service.

Stayed here in spring 2024 & found the property a good value for a fair price. Saw same conditions this time, in autumn 2024. Our room was clean/ well maintained & the beds were comfortable. No breakfast, but hot coffee is available in the nice lobby/ lounge area. Washers & dryers were convenient and worked well during both of my stays, and there's a small store near front desk that sells detergent, snacks/drinks, cosmetics you might have forgotten, etc. Loved that the parking lot is gated, a valuable feature in Portland area! Location was convenient to our visits with friends in both Portland & Vancouver, WA. Didn't use the Airport shuttle, but it seemed to operate regularly & early, and there's an opportunity to reserve your spot on it. Front desk and room attendants were friendly and helpful, and addressed our special request for a 1st floor room near the front lobby due to limited mobility of 1 member of our party. My only complaint was that our non-smoking room smelled of smoke, and when we called this to attention of staff, we were told that no other first floor rooms were available on the day we checked in, and that the smell was the result of the a/c pulling in air from outside, as the smoking area was said to be located near our room. Overall, I'd stay here again, but would hope the smoke issue could be resolved. Internet & TV worked. Room was cleaned & towels refreshed 1x on request during our 4-night stay. Would recommend to others seeking to balance value & price.

Super nice front desk staff and very efficient shuttle driver

Very helpful staff and great facilities and shuttle to the airport. My only "complaint" was that there was no tea offered in the rooms. Not everyone drinks coffee. And it would have been nice to have had a continental breakfast. Still, very nice facilities and great staff.
