Super 8 by Wyndham Sarasota Near Siesta Key

I’ve stated the Ritz Carlton and I’ve stated super eight sometimes even at Motel 6 when I was a kid. This was above the typical super eight standard, I am a winner rewards member, but I did not book through Wyndham this time. The staff was friendly and welcoming, my room was clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I am visiting my daughter in boarding school every other weekend when she is allowed to have visitation and have booked my next four weekends with this exact same hotel because I’ve been very happy. The pool is clean and nice, the parking lot is , as expected, I feel the unit is safe and it’s close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Old, smelly room, loud (thin walls, party going on in the parking lot with people breaking bottles and screaming with loud music blasting); I walked out, and it was a hassle to obtain a refund. This was the WORST experience of staying at a hotel that I have ever had. This property should be blacklisted and removed permanently from Expedia's portfolio of available properties. I later found out that it has a horrible reputation around town. The description and photos on the website did not match reality at all.

While I expected (and ok with) a budget friendly room I was extremely disappointed that the secondary door lock (the manual metal one that flips back and forth) was missing one half and thus not operational. I called immediately after checking in. The manager who eventually showed up an hour later only to be told there was nothing he could do till the next day and that I would be fine with just the dead bolt. Being there was a somewhat loud group partying outside in the parking lot, as a senior single female I did not feel safe and spent most of the night not sleeping. Would not stay there again.

By SRQ, I had Expedia points, room has cable, was super cheap so that's why I chose it. Attendant were so nice I hate to give my honest review. But if you're sensitive to smells or expect a standard of cleanliness, this is not for you. If you don't care about that, and just need the cheapest place next to the airport, then this is your place. Know that there is a $100 deposit. Also, my reservation was non-refundable. If not for that, I would have left right after seeing/smelling the room (it and reception/dining area have overpowering deodorizer scent). I don't care about the deposit, but there were several things wrong with the room so I'd better not be charged for them. One was that there was a dark, raised, rough-textured stain around the the sitting surface of the toilet seat. I brought to attention of staff but he said it was plastic and wear, not soiled (looked like adhesive that stained over time. This is a germ trap due to the texture). After he left, I saw a stain on one of the bed spreads (I do have pics of these, and I slept on the other bed). I didn't call front desk again about the stain on the unused bed since the standard clearly isn't high here, I was so tired, and NFL game had started. Worry about deposit return. I went to check out laundry/ice/vending machines. Guys, I cannot make this up, there was a broken, used, dismantled toilet right next to the ice machine /vending machines! I felt imprisoned to my non-refundable reservation.

I am regular traveling and it was the worst experience

Perfect place to sleep at when you arrive at 1AM at the airport. Close and convenient.

Ok hotel, close to the airport, so very convenient when you have a very early morning flight. Rooms are cleaned. Sheets were a little bit worn out. Friendly welcome.

In my 35 years of traveling this has been the worst hotel experience I have EVER had! I pulled up to check in at the super 8 hotel in Sarasota. Upon checking in I was only provided with 1 room key. I asked for a second and was told if I lose this one or get locked out I can come to the front they are open 24 hours and would be provided with another key. I get to my room to do my normal room check to see if there are clean sheets and fresh towels, only to find there are guest already in the room. Roaches and bed bugs that is.I immediately went to the front office to speak to the same front desk attendant that checked me in about the guest in the room. She asked if I already used the room, in which I replied absolutely not I was just here 5 min ago, pulled the sheets back and showed her the bug issue . She called a house keeper and they both followed me back to the room so that I can prove that I saw what I saw. When we all got to the room, the front desk attendant accused me of using the room because the bed sheet and comforter were pulled back. However it did not take long for us to see the creatures in the room. The house keeper mentioned they just had a pest control guy that came and maybe that’s why they were all out and sleeping in the bed. She mentioned she just cleaned room 206 upstairs and suggested to move me. The same issue with the room infestation everywhere. Because I complained 2 days later the manager kicked me and my family out leaving us with no hotel strand

This property was awful! I will never stay there again, there was a centipede crawling around and the smell of mould. The furnishings were very outdated and worn. The wall had unrepaired peeling walls and the airconditioner was either super freezing or would not turn on at all. THe staff stayed up chatting right outside the room till 2 am shouting and drinking at one point. If I could get my money back I would. I would have rather stayed in a tent. the pool had lots of dead leaves in it for 2 days until cleaned up but the trees were pretty and the parking convenient.

There was a construction crew partying in parking lot until very early hours. Another guest was there yelling through out the night about his wi-fi being out. Visible mildew in bathroom. Looks like they tried to paint over top of it. Strong chemical smell in room. The kids were running front desk which isn’t a problem but they were not professional or welcoming, more if a burden to them.
