Pros-clean and bed was ok.
Cons-
outdoor pool was green.
No elevator-carrying luggage and supplies up a flight of stairs was not an expected inconvenience. Staff member said he would help but when luggage was brought in he was nowhere to be found.
Continental breakfast was poor-food was not ready on time, biscuits hard, cereal stale, no cups for juice. Very minimal amount of food. Spent money on breakfast on the go vs the included breakfast I expected
Shower head was very low. At 5’4” I had to duck to wash hair. Crazy!
No do not disturb signs
Could hear everything and everyone who was outdoors. Windows closed but sounded like they were not.
Very hot upstairs. Room kinda kept cool with ac
Never received the bill even after checking out in person.
Probably was a nice hotel back in the day. Could use some updating. Worn out looking.
Tornado sirens went off and there was no information from staff or awareness if you didn’t hear it. Big safety concern!

We had two rooms here, one for myself and my partner, and one for my parents. One of the rooms was inside the building, with an indoor corridor. It was quite nice and felt much safer than the other room, which was more like a motel room, where the door to the room led out to the parking lot. The rooms themselves were very clean and nicely appointed with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. However, one of the rooms did not have hot water in the morning. The manager explained that was because the hotel was fully booked and that there would be more hot water in about an hour once the boilers refilled. I think a hotel should have hot water for all of its rooms at all times or something is wrong with the infrastructure. The complimentary breakfast is adequate but nothing special. I think this hotel is decent for its price point, particularly due to the friendliness of the staff and its cleanliness.

Big building, on a main road, lots of restaurants around, easy to get to and plenty of parking.

The lady at the front desk(blondish hair and tattoos) was great with both interactions we had with her. She’s the glue to this place and by far her service and politeness is top notch - sorry I don’t recall her name but she was awesome!!!
From there though, it goes down hill.
After parking car and climbed out - we were greeted by a used rubber laying by car.
Online states it has a restaurant and indoor pool. Restaurant hasn’t been open for some time and indoor pool was under remodel. Website didn’t state either. - it does have onsite bar that opens for evenings.
Place has outdoor pool, but water was freezing.
Each of our 2 day stay included our room NEVER having enough hot water for my family of 4 to shower with hot water. After 2 showers, water got cold.
Rooms are not sound proof at all. They had event in the dance hall with bass kicking until late evening.
Didn’t provide enough towels or wash clothes for everyone.
I could keep going, but why.
If your in South Bend and desperate, it’s ok , but I wouldn’t make this your first pick.

We wish the bar had been open on a Tuesday night (only open on weekends) - it looked interesting. Free breakfast, easy to get to the airport, close to ND, lots of dining options nearby. The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful.

What a surprise to find a very affordable hotel that's in such good shape like a premium hotel. My room opened to the outside but was quiet and nice with good bed, shower, fridge, wifi, and parking just outside the room. Breakfast was really good. Lots of restaurants on this road too. Outdoor pool is closed down but could be really nice if they reopen it. Huge banquet hall. Highly recommend.

Hotel is very clean and all physical aspects are in good condition. Room is commodious and well appointed with light, receptacles and furniture. Security is somewhat annoying in that it takes me a lot of steps to get from parking lot, through locked door and up to my room.

Price and what I got was expected. It was a little scary being alone and having to navigate my way to what seems like a campus/dorm in dark, run down parking lots and hallways. Bed was comfy, room was nice. Front desk guy was extremely friendly. But my room phone rang and 4am and nobody was on the line and I called down to see if it was the front desk and it wasn’t, so I was terrified that somebody was going to try to get into my room through the adjoining room or window facing the pool and couldn’t sleep after that. Overall, for $70, I’d stay again. But maybe not alone.

For the price, the Clover was a really good find. It was clean, well lit, had ample parking, and was easy to find.
