Sugar Beach Resort Hotel

Lovely stay- we weren’t able to check in until later due to travel plans but sitting on the beach was lovely that evening. Nice breezy evening to sit on the beach. Great boxed breakfast option delivered right to your door!

I’m a business traveler, this would be a great place to stay for a quick gateway. Right on the beach. The indoor pool looked great. Room was clean. The to go breakfast delivered to the door was perfect.

Staff was friendly and helpful. They had my breakfast box delivered at 4:30 AM ahead of my six am flight - which was above and beyond!

The hotel was nice, the pillows are comfortable. The poil erea is nice. They do keep the pool towels at the desk, wich is inconvenient if you are wet, i had to ask for them. My husband was in the parking lit smoking and was rudley advised this is a non smoking property and he had to go smoke by the road. That could have been handled differently. Also it should be posted when you make reservations that it is a non smoking property.

We love Sugar Beach. We travel to Traverse City often and when we do, we make reservations there. It is convenient to get everywhere, beautiful scenery, great accommodating staff.

Extremely disappointed in our most recent stay. While we were aware we had booked a room without a view, we were told it would be a courtyard room. In reality, it was a first floor room directly facing the parking lot. When we called the front desk to inquire about a second or third floor room, we were told we would have to deal with Expedia directly, and that there was absolutely nothing they could do for us. Our room had a very damp, musty smell to it. Through the night, our son became sick. We called the front desk 5 or 6 times, trying to get paper towels, garbage bags, and a mop to clean it up. No one answered any of our calls. My husband walked to the lobby to speak to someone. No one was at the desk, and all of the office doors and lights were closed. When wiping the floors, the towels we used came up BLACK. That is not from vomit, that is from filth on floors that have not been cleaned in Lord knows how long. In the morning, we spoke to the man at the front desk. We wanted to ensure our security deposit would be returned. We also wanted to express our disappointment that no one was available to help at the front desk. He assured us someone was working that night andxour deposit would be returned. We told him even to pull up the call log, and he acknowledged that he could see multiple calls from our room. While we received a verbal apology from the clerk, we received zero compensation of any kind.

Staff was very friendly. Our second floor room had a great view of the lake. Plenty of parking. The breakfast that was delivered each morning had several choices and you could pick a time within a two hour window to have it delivered. The workers did an amazing job each morning of keeping the beach area clean and free of sand on the walkways.

Everything was so wonderful. The beach was amazing and the activities. I did wish they came to the room more often to change out towels and give s’more toilet paper. We traveled with multiple people and they used our room a lot and we needed things freshened up. I know they sayn3 days for housekeeping. Ask if we would like anything. Overall everything was excellent! Everyone was friendly kind and helpful.

The stay was Good and comfortable. One suggestion that the side doors from the parking lot to the building should be allowed to access it without the room key.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, maintenence man helped me with my waverunner parking in the lot. only complaint would be the order ahead breakfast, not anything I care to eat especially the biscuit sandwich. Nice thought though
