Overview

The Sumas Mountain Lodge offers a convenient location for travellers, especially those crossing the border into Canada. Guests appreciate the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and the on-site restaurant which serves a good breakfast and dinner. The lodge also benefits from ample parking. However, please note that some guests have reported issues with outdated bathroom facilities and a lack of sufficient electrical outlets in some rooms. Also, the restaurant's kitchen closes relatively early (8pm Sun-Thurs).

This was an older vintage typer room, great property, easy to find, ample parking, nice staff, easy check in, very comfortable beds, nice coffee station with mini fridge. Loved the balcony and nice restaurant to get breakfast at with great service. It's right on the road, so not totally quiet if out on the balcony, but still very nice. Room #6, The shower could use some updating. The faucet didn't work well in it and the curved rod was on backwards so the shower curtain pointed into the shower which limited your space.

Hotel staff were really great, friendly. Room was wonderful. Dining area seemed a bit understaffed- and didn't end up using after a long wait (the manager did step in to help out). Overall, would return as lovely atmosphere and great location for travelling convenience.

From the picture and name, you think it's a mountain lodge, nestled in the forest in the mountains. It is NOT! You're right in town, surrounded by parking lots and businesses in every direction. The internet was too slow for streaming and the other TV options are horrible. Should be a dimmer switch in the bathroom for midnight visits. Other than that, this place is GREAT!! Friendly staff, great room, fun ambiance.

I had to call and cancel my stay because of flight issues. There was no issues and the girl was very pleasant to deal with. I have stayed there before pre Covid and would highly recommend it. The food in restaurant is also very good.

We travel 50 days a year and have spent time in a lot of hotels. This was absolutely the worst we have stayed at. I’m sad to say this because the place has so much potential, the staff was so nice and the attached restaurant was good. Check in was smooth. We were told we’re would be in room 5. I asked for directions and was told it was upstairs. All of the rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator. When I opened the door to our room I was met with a strong musty smell and the room was humid and stuffy. I know it’s in Washington but the fan on the a/c could have helped with this had it been left on. There were no outlets except the ones already being used by the TV, coffee pot and the refrigerator or the one in the bathroom next to the sink. The bathroom outlet had burn marks on it. The WORST PROBLEM WAS THE MOLDY FLOOR IN THE BATHROOM. Unfortunately it was late and we had already traveled several hours that day and finding another room nearby was not possible. We spent as little time as possible in the bathroom and left the next morning as soon as possible despite having booked two days.

After a long flight from Atlanta to Seattle and a drive up from there we needed a place to rest before going to the interior of BC; and this was great. Spacious room, clean and had everything we needed, all the big windows were nice but let in a lot of light first thing in the morning. We had a great dinner at the restaurant on site.

I enjoyed this property. I would stay here again. I wasn't here very long. My only knock is that the kitchen closed or closes at 8pm Su-Th. I was there on a Sunday night of a 3 day Holiday weekend. I'm sure it has something to do with being short staffed and a sign out front looking for a cook. The property was in the motif of a lodge, true to its name. I stayed here as I needed to cross into Canada in the weeee hours of the following morning, and it's only about .5mi from the border. I parked a bus in the parking lot as well. Mexican restaurant 2 blocks down served food til 9pm. This was a cool vintage-y lodge style hotel.
