This location is ideal for visitors arriving by train from London as it is EASY walking distance and minutes by taxi; there is a stand close by. During our six day at this location we marveled at how friendly and exceedingly helpful the staff were. The hotel is close to IKEA as well!

I checked in late on Thursday due to a late flight and then a late bus. The man on reception checked me in efficiently.
My room was on the ground floor right at the end. As a female travelling on my own this wasn't ideal and, if it had been earlier and I hadn't been travelling for eight hours I might have asked to change but as I was going to be in the room for less than 12 hours it didn't matter too much.
The room set up is a little odd with the toilet seperate from the sink and shower. For what I paid for this room though I can't really complain. It is a 5-10 min walk from the coach station and about 15 min walk from Horizon Terminal which is where I was headed.

Ideal location for port terminals, only problem was parking. Just not enough parking to accommodate everyone, but hotel itself was ideal for our needs.

The hotel is located in an area of big box stores and an industrial park but it is within easy walking distance of both the train station and the cruise ship terminal. This made it the ideal place to stay before embarking on a cruise.

I mistakenly booked the iBis Budget instead of the iBis .... High season through a big Hotels website. £165 a night plus £10 parking and breakfast extra.
On top of this there was no WiFi in the hotel and mild chaos on the front desk. Go somewhere, anywhere else in Southampton.

Clean and Cheap enough for a very basic, no frills, small room stay. Nothing but a bed, toilet paper and towels. Bed was a little soft, pillow was a little hard, but we were only in the room 10 hours. Perfect walking distance for cruise terminal and close to McDonald's if you need food, other takeaway available. Close walk to bus station if using the National Express Coach from the airport.

For the things that worked, it was good. But the lights in the room were problematic, the one in the shower turned itself off after 30 minutes and only worked again on the 3rd day, the bigger one by the hangers never worked, only blinked once when you tried to turn it on. There were not enough outlets around the room, and the teli was useless. The parking was impossible to find a spot for, it looked like they just let as many people pay for spots even though there were not enough spots available. The cards to open the doors had to be reconfigured twice (but that happens in almost every other hotel). I haven't tried the breakfast there (quite expensive for a budget hotel).

For three roller coaster enthusiasts from the USA traveling on a budget, this was a good choice. Front desk staff directed us to a great nearby pub too so we could watch some soccer matches.
