Overview

The Mafolie Hotel boasts stunning views of Charlotte Amalie harbour, a major draw for guests. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, often highlighting their exceptional service in arranging taxis and accommodating guests' needs. The on-site restaurant also receives positive comments for its delicious food, although some mention that the limited menu and high prices may be a factor. Many rooms offer spacious accommodations and comfortable beds. However, it's important to note that the hotel's hillside location requires taxis for transportation to and from town and other attractions, and some guests mentioned that the hotel itself could benefit from some modernisation.

Got there a little early and since it was slow season i was able to check in a little earlier. Alise the front desk attendant was very sweet the whole stay there. From walking me to my room in the beginning makong sure my key worked to calling taxis for me and checking out. My room and view was AMAZING! Im here at the airport in tears because I didnt want to leave. The pool was nice and clean. Great view from that deck as well. The breakfast is your basic american breakfast. My only wish is that they switched it up on the weekends or something. Hotel is up on the mountains so if youre looking somewhere more commercialized i wouldnt recommend but great otherwise. I walled down twice to downtown which took me less than 20 minutes. All in all i would definitely come back and request the same room i had.

The stay was nice, could use a bit of a refresh. The property is old but beautiful. The restaurant attached to the hotel doesn’t have a lot of food options, and very over priced for the quality of the food. Staff were very friendly and kind. I would stay there again for the price but far from the beach and you need a taxi to get anywhere.

The view from the Mafolie is beautiful, the staff are super kind and helpful. The areas around like the pool and dinner are nice. A lot of it is outside so bugs and lizards are to be expected. Our room was clean and the view was just amazing. Though, this hotel is not walkable. Do not try to walk to it from town. The hike up the hill isn’t safe. (I’ve done it) there are no sidewalks it’s just all side of the road. though if you drive during your time here then it’s a perfect place. Parking is limited. It’s super close to everything if you drive or take a taxi.

I felt safe. But at the same time, I did not like the inconvenience to other things like shopping and sightseeing. I had to get a taxi for everything.

these views are worth every second and penny of staying here. keep in mind, you cannot walk anywhere except the bar a little up the hill called sibs. However, we found a wonderful taxi guy named Kenny, who is safe and reliable and drove us every day to and from the hotel wherever we want to go. The pool is gorgeous with a wonderful view as well. Adorable cats on the property outside that are so friendly. The staff is wonderful the house keeping is amazing. It is worth every penny, but I think it’s pretty affordable to stay there. Lots of steps, so keep that in . However, it brings a lot of charm and old world vibes. We upgraded to the junior suite with the balcony and it was worth it The only downfall and this is small is that the breakfast every day is the exact same. Scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, the fruit changes every day. Sometimes they had potatoes. They also have dry cereal with milk if you wanted it. Fresh orange juice. And coffee. it was a little upsetting that you can only get scrambled eggs when you are staying there seven days. I wish they could switch it up and do fried eggs or even waffles one day.

This is a nice quaint hotel. Nothing is withing walking distance, so you need a taxi anytime you want to go into town or elsewhere. The road noise can be loud. Unfortunately, we did not know prior to going, but the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays for dinner, so we had to get a taxi to go elsewhere. With some work, this could be a really nice place to stay. The views from up there are spectacular.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and went above-and-beyond to help arrange for taxi service to a restaurant and for airport pickup. It really is appreciated that they were very friendly as well as being professional - just really nice people, cannot emphasize that enough. Lovely location and view; simply wish that I'd more time to spend there...

The views are amazing, the restraunt was really good for dinner and the complementary breakfast was good as well. Favorite part was how helpful the staff was with scheduling taxis and letting us keep are bags there when arriving early. A really great experience.

The hotel location offers a beautiful view of the water. The rooms are clean, very comfortable bed and the A/C worked great. The staff was amazing from checkin to the bar and the restaurant. The distance to the airport is a short drive and the transportation that the hotel arranged was fabulous. We stayed just one night before our trip home after spending one week on a catamaran. It was a perfect place to stay.
